so does the handling generally improve with spacers (no other mods)? I know it's a wider track, but spacers also 'soften' the effect of the spring/shock due to leverage...

not meaning to flame, as I use spacers on my front axle, but only for appearance. Cos, surprisingly, the 19inch 313 M Sport wheels I fitted were actually more offset than my stock 18 inch wheels at the front. IIRC 5mm less per side.

But at the rear they had less offset than stock, so I'm not using spacers.

Can you provide the OEM and the current scrub radius?

I just calculated the figures of how much the new wheel would move 'in' or 'out' compared to original wheel, using the online calculator. Just input the wheel size, wheel offset of new and then compared to original wheel specs.

cheers

G'day guys

I've got 18' 313M wheels with stock sport suspension with 225/40/18 front & 255/35/18 rear.

Will keep these tyre for now but was interested in spacers.

Was wondering what the most aggressive I could go for front and rear without rubbing/rolling fenders?

Understand it can only be so aggressive of a stance without rolling.

Appreciate any advice.

Probably 10mm front and rear
You might get away with 15 on the front but not sure
Easiest way to estimate is to measure from the wall of the tire to the lip of the wheel arch

Thanks Socket, always helpful. I'll try that.

That looks great man.

I think I'm gonna go for 15mm in the front and 12mm in the back. Hopefully no rubbing but worst case, will roll fenders.

Cheers boys.

I have the 19" 313's on my E92.
Just wondering which 12mm spacers you recommend?
Does the protruding depth of the hubs on the rear axle cause any problems with the thickness of the hubcentric spacer? What's the minimum thickness hubcentric spacers which will actually seat correctly and flush on the face of the front and rear brake hubs?
Were your brand of spacers made with recessed transition radius to avoid interference with the alloy wheels so the wheels also mount flush to the spacer when fitted?
Thanks Dr J.

https://www.autoinstruct.com.au/prod...bmw-e-chassis/

These are the ones that I'm looking at rn. From burgermotorsports but AutoInstruct is an Australian website, hence the $10 shipping. Comes with extended bolts too.

So will most likely go with these unless anyone has better suggestions.

on my 19" 313M setup I had scrubbing on the rear with 265/30 tyres and a 10mm spacer.

As for brand I had the BMS spacers, but there are plenty of brands available.

I am running the same wheels GTC-CX but in 18'' i.e. 8.5 x 18 fitted with 235/40ZR18 and 9.5 x 18 with 265/35ZR18 Michelin PSS tyres. The 9.5 x 18 wheels have a 33mm offset and they were just touching when I hit a bump in the road. I rolled the lip and all is good. I don't know what the offset of the 19" wheels are but I certainly couldn't fit spacers of any size at the rear with the 18" wheels.
