I changed down from 19” twist style alloys which were cracked to 18” 162 elipsoids with non runflats. The ride is very good and I’m pleased I made the change. 19s do look better but they just didn’t stay reliable for me and the previous owner had buggered them up

Assuming they're going on your silver E92 here's how they look. Could do with a set of spacers but I haven't bothered as it's a winter setup.

Nice car & silver is the best colour for a e92, or in fact any car
looks comfy The ride was great on my e36 328is with 17"s but those 3 piece split rims were a pita to keep clean
Have been looking at these & 189s, I shall have a look at tyre prices later.

Thanks for the replies all, to add on to the question has anyone gone from 18" with run flats to 19" with non-run flats? if so is it much worse?

I think 18's on standard SE or M-Sport suspension look too small. I guess it's a sacrifice to have better ride comfort though.

There's no denying a set of MV4's or 313's in 19" guise look so much better.

THis doesn't seem to be everyones experience, but with stock sport suspension and 19s with Hankook Ventus V12s my car rode pretty much just like stock. Once I put the H&R springs on the ride was brutal with 19s and still bad with 18s. Thank God those are gone.

I’ve just bought a set of MV4’s to replace my scruffy elipsoids. I know I’ll probably regret going from 18” non run flats to the 19” run flats the wheels are fitted with but I love the looks of E92’s on 19’s, especially MV4’s. just have to see how I cope with them........

I've got 19s and the difference is very minimal. I'd stay with 18s.

Well, I made the change yesterday, 18” non runflats to 19” runflats and the ride quality has obviously taken a turn for the more crashy.........but only a bit. The road outside my flat is a suspension crash fest so I was surprised on my first venture out how not that bad it was. Early days and I’m not getting shot of the elipsoids just yet but so far so good.

I went from run flat Pirellis to non run flat Hankooks on my 269s. Can't help but feel the car's reactions are a little delayed on pick up, and with steering deadspot on my msport.?! Considering run flats next time

Probably because you went to Hankooks.i went from runflat michelins front Bridgestone runflat rears to non runflat Bridhestones all round and everything feels sharper. More grip than with the runflats too. The car doesn't skip over small bumps any more with a little more tyre flex.

Just bought a E92 with 19" MV4's without run-flat tires.
Can't complain about the ride quality, the run flats are what makes the difference imo.

I'm used to driving a F10 5 series M-sport with stock 17-18? wheels and run-flat tires, and you can't go over a speedbump at more than 15mph. The ride quality on the E92 with bigger wheels and I assume a harder suspension is soo much better than the F10.

I have an E90 M Sport with a 6,000 mile old B12 kit and M3 front arms. Wheel and tyre combo is Apex ARC-8 with 235/35R19 and 265/30R19 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Previous set was the M193 factory wheels with standard tyre sizes. The ride is certainly a little firmer, but not drastically, and 90% of the time it doesn't pose a problem. For me, it's the open road driving where the issues start - but only because our country roads are so badly sealed.
