After market Catback reliabilty concern and engine light

Hi guys,

I recently picked up a 2011 E92 335i M-sport.

After doing some research, I decided down pipe would be too loud and I don't plan on tuning this car anytime soon as my #1 concern is reliability. I decided to play it safe and go with maybe Corsa catback or BMW PE exhaust.

Do you guys have any other suggestions? Mainly looking for a better sound and I'm super paranoid about engine lights so no downpipes! BTW I've had 3 N54s prior to this and I gotta say N55 sounds a lot better at cold start.

Thanks!

There is a mod you can do to make it a little bit louder, sounds raspier. Takes 2 minutes and is free give it a shot, 0 codes from this it opens the valve you have in your exhaust.

The "Golf tee" mod is only making it lower in the low RPM range when you're cruising. Under acceleration the car opens the flap anyway...
And it'll make the cold start even louder.

If u are only getting a catback, I don't see how it would affect reliability.

Regardless, PE exhaust is a good choice.

I have the Circuit Werks catback on mine and it has held up well for a couple of years so far, but in South Texas we don't deal with corrosion and such,

I am FBO and Stage 2+ now but this video is when it was stock with just the catback.

Thanks for the reply guys! I've searching for a used PE exhaust and it seems very rare to find. New ones go for around $1.5k from what I can see on the internet. Anyone selling used ones?

If not, any idea on which vendor on here gives the best pricing?

***Also what happened to the e90post vinyls haha, I use to have one on my 07 but it seems like no one sells them anymore***

Please advise!

Do the PE mod if you like the sound of the bmw PE exhaust. Cost me about $400 all said and done and sounds amazing with a downpipe

Thanks! How complicated is the PE mod? I live in the bay area and don't know many muffler shops around.

Not too bad, there's a few threads here that go into great detail about what's involved. I took it to a shop that specializes in BMWs
