HELP :( Trans Warning light
While i was at lunch taking a nap in my car today i got this yellow warning light. I was not driving and the car was in park the whole time (idling for about 45mins). At this point i turned the car off and pulled out the fob. When i turned the car back on the light was not there and the check said "OK". After researching for the past hour about this light i never really figured out much. I found a couple threads, one stating that its definately going to need a new transmission and others saying its fluid low (possible leak). I just wanted to check and see if anybody has ever had this light pop up on them and if so what was the fix. Thanks in advance for any help.

You have to pull the codes.
I doubt that your transmission needs to be replaced. I've recently done a transmission swap on my E92, if you have any specific questions I may be able to answer them for you.

Thanks for the response, im hoping your right. I work at a dealership and i called a buddy of mine that works for a wrecking yard. He said if it ends up crapping out he has a trans out of another 08 with 40k miles on it and will give it to me for $1,000.00 + my core. I dunno, ever since this happened earlier ive been looking at 335's

Sounds a little paranoid to me. If the light went out, and your car drives, assuming your tranny is toast is a little premature. It would warrant checking codes though.

lol I have a good working tranny for $800 with warranty no core charge.
Before doing anything, get the car scanned by a bmw shop and go from there.
