325d - MSport - Which rear shocks?

Hello, I am in the UK and I am having a tough time picking some shocks for my 2006 325d.

As I said in the subject the car is an MSport so naturally I need to pick the 'sports' model.

I've been looking on some popular parts websites such as ECP and GSF and Autoparts Doctor where I get stuck is the sheer choice.

I think Bilstein will suffice, however when I get to the choice of product, I get 'for vehicles with sports suspension' and 'for vehicles with M technology'..

Can anyone help pick a pair for me which should match my car?

Thanks!

Hi.
Hoping to revive this thread and get my rear shocks sorted.

The part on the shock is listed with quite a few numbers.

3352 8036026 02
is the main part number as well as 105413 and finally H8751M

Any ideas where to look so I don't end up with awful suspension?

I would call up Bilstein and talk with their support. Most likely they will say the B6 is what you need if it has the sport suspension. Once you get the part number from them you can look around for a set.

I am guessing that any additonal weight in the 325d is due to a heavier engine, hence your shock choice can be the same as the Petrol versions (maybe pick a 6 cyclinder petrol). Remember Bilstein B4 is standard height, OEM valving, B6 is standard height HD valving, and B8 is HD valving for lowered suspension. While Bilsteins are excellent shocks, you should determine if they are suitable for your roads and driving style. Some people in America find them too stiff.

I currently run the KW V1 coil-over and I think the spring rates and valving are ideal for a lowered, daily, all-weather driver. They are unfortunately not as well made as the Bilsteins and are known to leak (as mine have). Remember tire size, weight, and aspect ratio have a significant impact on suspension performance (more than many people discuss).

Koni yellow or reds with stock sport springs.
