I was looking into brakes for my 335i and came accross pin bushing sets that replace the rubber ones. I saw two sets by FCP euro and ECS tuning with one being a snap ring held and one being a pressed in set.

What are your thoughts on these and are they worth while? I think this might also solve my brake shudder in the rear since everything is held together tighter. Also I saw that there are different manufacturers for brake calipers for the E9x. Is there a way to identify the manufacturer so i can get the right guide pin sets?

i tried the ecs (better imo with caps ) one on my m5 but think i messed up the install and 1 pin siezed 5k later. imo not gonna fix the crazy rear brake shudder when pads overheat, its the caliper design, race pads can be a fix depending. ideally needs a rear fixed caliper setup

These pins are race car parts, intended for brake systems that get inspected every 2 or 3 hours of operation, and disassembled every 10.

Don't put them on your street car.

The rubber bushings are fine.

Thanks for the info. Do you guys know of anyone making polyurethane bushings?

I've been using ECS brass bushings for 4 years now. Apart from greasing them with copper grease once a year, I've never given them a second thought.
The car pulls up straight, no vibrations and brake pad wear is even on every disc. Greasing them also involves jacking the car up and removing the wheels and giving the brakes a quick inspection; all in about an hour of work once a year, you can add another hour if you do a fluid flush at the same time.
My wife's E70 X5 has rubber bushed brakes and they suffer from uneven pad wear, but as yet no vibrations. When the pads need to be replaced I think I'll change it over to brass bushings as well.
