Wheee nice afternoon for climbing under the car.
Finally replaced the plastics under the engine/radiator/etc, reattached the cracked bumper, cut new brackets to reattach the right headlight, properly attached both fender liners, which both need to be replaced again due to improper attachment last year. new-to-me wheels and tires (thank you Welterweight!) gives me a nice smooth ride. Monday alignment, brake fluid change, and possibly ordering a new rear hatch under the rust warranty. I can just feel the wallet emptying itself. |

COs? Sorry I haven't been following the thread recently... my rears are particularly squeaky, probably a combination of struts and bushings, and why replace with the same when i can spend more?

Sucks. It's not like I am going to buy all of that right now...but I was thinking if I'm going to upgrade lets see what the full upgrade would cost. It looks like around 6k for parts, probably 7-7.5k installed. That is just insane. You can buy a single turbo kit for that price...

Just get an M3 now if you plan on upgrading all of those components. If you do them all over time I think you're underestimating labor costs, especially if you need alignments along the way

That list is a little excessive. Depends how far you want to go for power. If not, grab an M3. If you are looking for a 6-700whp 335, you'll need to build up the suspension/brakes too, but not to that level.

All said and done, my setup is around 2,200. That is with the M3 arms, subframe bushing inserts, coils, etc. I haven't touched the front arms, sway bars or any of the other M3 pieces, but it's a good starting point.
Take into account, the M3 stock suspension won't be without fault. Coilovers, bushings, and other pieces will still improve it. So your $5k is quoting a "beyond M3 setup". |

Also, check the upper strut mount and the supporting cup on the top of that strut. They can rot out and lose the support at the top. Take off the clip hook, and the few push clips surrounding, then peel back the panel. |

Forgot to add m3 rear trailing arms and bushings for trailing arm to that list. I am sure there is more...

Hmm. Left rear shock is blown, that might explain the shitty handling at speed on the highway over bumps. It is impressive how well this car handles with bad alignment and worn out components.
Trying to decide between a set of fsd's, b6's and b4's... For a daily driver that I take camping. Hmmmmmm..... |

I'd hold off on the sway bars, and arms for a bit and focus on the weak points. Springs, struts, rear subframe bushings and rear toe arms. That's my strategy this round. |

Anyone own a fanatec wheel/pedal/clutch setup? I recently got project cars as a gift and want to build a seat and wheel rig
