WOW!

As per our PMs, yes you may have sacrificed nav, but the Logic 7, Piano Black trim and Oyster leather are absolutely lovely - a very rare car!

Absolutely beautiful. And I am glad I found this thread as I have been waiting to see an LCI 335i E91 on Eibachs and MV3s... This is it! I now have a very good idea of what I can expect mine to look like... Which is perfect. Not too low, but a nice even arch gap fr. and rr.

Lovely!

PS, recent addition will set it off

PPS - Epic job on the wet sand!

I'm one that likes a bit of orange peel. But that's the worst I've seen from a factory finish.
Take it easy, and never touch the egdes with the machine.
Looking good.

The orange peel is pretty bad, and in places, the paint depth is quite thin IMO. I'm also not chasing every last bit of peel. There is still a little, even in the sanded panels. And you're dead right about the edges!

Gave the car a bit of TLC over the long weekend, as there was potential for it to be sold this week! That's now not happening, but thought some of you might enjoy the pics.

Work in progress and a cracking reflection shot

Pads and polish wise, i've used a number of different bits and pieces.

Pads wise, I use 3M pads. Either Green compounding, Yellow polishing or blue finishing pad. Polish wise, 3M Fast Cut Plus or Sonax Cut Max on a green pad, Sonax Cut and Finish on a yellow pad and finally, Sonax Perfect finish on a blue pad. All wiped down with CarPro Eraser before waxing!

Nice one - thanks. Always useful to hear about stuff that actually works. I've tried all sorts on mine but it still has swirls. I thought Menzerna polishes and pads would do the trick, but they're still there. Starting to think i may need a more powerful DA polisher now.

No problem. I use a rotary, as the DA doesn't really cut it on BMW paint. You could try a Rupes Big Foot, but they're still big money. They are very good mind you.

Oh there's no way I'm gong near the car with a rotary. I'm deffo not talented enough (or have big enough balls) to use a rotary!

Using a rotary is easy.

People make it out to be much more of a challenge and dangerous than it actually is.

You just have to be careful when polishing on swage lines or panel edges.

I think you'd be surprised. Rotary isn't that big a deal. Buy a decent one, be it Flex, 3M, Festool etc and you'll be surprised. Start slowly and work you way up. Not a problem. As Dann says, taping edges is important as is the amount of pressure you apply, or not.

I still have a DA that I use on Japanese car bumpers and side skirts, as they can be a nightmare with a rotary, but otherwise, it's rotary all the way.
