328 vs 335 Coupe Times
Has anyone tried to time the real world performance times on 328 as well? I know there is a ton of data on 335. How about 328?
What is the actual 0-60 time. How does it rev upto 100? Does is feel anemic compared to 335 when accelerating? I know torque makes a lot of difference. I am really not looking for 335 blows 328 kind of statements but actual time differences. Also what is the measured rwhp? Respect, Sal |

My car feels plenty fast enough to kill me. I usually like to drop to at least 5th for passing on the highway or it feels like I'm not moving. Kickdown on the highway and you'll move, but you're not going to get thrown back in your seat. Standing starts are pretty good, every day I take it to like 60 on this really short street by my house that's about 100 yards long. 60 mph is exactly 2k RPM in 6th.

Car and driver claims 6.1 seconds for the 328 4 door. This is the same time as they got for last year's 325.
Someone on bimmerfest posted that he had a dyno done at 202.5 HP at teh rear wheels. |

yup...took me a whole 2 minutes to find--actually there is a better one that is older of " my 328 beat a 335" but it is closed so I couldn't bring it up.
Csu, where are you?

Hey! Over in the N/A section we love TheAxiom! And since getting banned then reinstated, he's turned over a whole new leaf... he now knows better than to beat the hornet's nest with a baseball bat! Oh, and that 10 second 328i you speak of, that was for an 1/8 mile.

I think that Car and Driver timed the 328i as high as 5.9 seconds for 0-60, but it was a sedan with MT.

He does seem to have mellowed out since getting banned...I saw that interview of him by bimmette and he seemed like a low key guy..struck me different than the 328 lobbyist that he had portrayed himself as. Seemed like a nice guy..as opposed to when I got in a debate with him.

Lol I love you guys, I love this thread. But yes, the 335i feels (and is) substantially faster, there is no way around it's massive amount of torque.
When I ran my car at the track, I couldn't break the 14s (traction/driver limited) stock, but the mph was there. Now, I'd be happy for a low 14 1/4mile. One guy with a nearly stock 128i did 14.2.... |
