RD LED is a lot brighter than GP thunder when they r facing the wall

if the price is about the same or cheaper than lux then u will get a good market sales.....but if it is 50-100$ more expensive i am sure the us guy would rather get lux than this.....coz lux has a good name brand to it...since almost half of the e90 guys is using lux right now

anyways good product duke!!!
hope the price is reasonable!!!

I already said the LED are brighter than LUX; but no matter what you do you cannot get it brighter due the optical tubes.

You guys make the Call. Do you prefer a build quality product or decent product?

there are a couple things we can try to make it even brighter.
example: add the reflectors around the LEDs; so the light won't bouncing around.

1- Photos have been sent to DTD.

2- These things are BRIGHT! Really Bright!

3- Build quality on the Duke Dynamics Crystal is better than anything I've seen on the market to date.

WoW!
Very nice!
I only see a slight difference over LUX but hell, LUX 5.0 was the best of its kind so if you're doing better than that, you're doing pretty damn good

here's the other important questions other than price:
Definitely no Errors???
How hard is installation compared to LUX?
How safe is this product? don't want any electrical frying

1. Finish product won't have any errors - if there is we will fixed it.
2. Installation are a lot easily than the Lux ( remove and put the OEM on a side)
3. It's hot but it is safe to handle it with your hands.

Thanx for the pics.

I see only a slight improvement, but is it a $50 improvement over the LUX 5.0?

DTD, as you suggest, your LEDs most likely have exceeded the design parameters of the E90's light tubes, despite it being so much brighter against the wall when compared to Lux 5.0. Seeing that your 2 LED's are quite large and further apart than LUX 5.0, I think you'll have to somehow better focus more light into end of the light tubes. With better reflectors around the LED/light tube interface, maybe you'll get more light through.

yes, that is what we are going to do; we are going to add round reflectors for the LEDs. So the light won't bounce it around and aim it straight into the tubes.
I think there will be another 15%-20% increased if we add the reflectors. Beside we only set it to 2.1mA instead of 2.5mA for the heat issues.

Having seen the DD-Crystal side by side with the LUX 5.0; I am confident that this first attempt by Duke Dynamics to create a top-quality product worthy of our BMW's will easily rank among the brightest & best-built angel eye conversions available.

I can't wait for a final release product!

Yeah,... we could be waiting till spring for sunny weather

There should be some more photo opps next weekend if the weather is decent. Will also try and convince DTD to do a OEM AE vs. DD-Crystal comparison as well.
