I think we were only at 2 events together last year. I will likely do the

1 day Calabogie BMW Ottawa club one + 1 with Viper

1 day LCMT with BMW Qc + 1 day with Viper

The other 2 days I'll figure out when more events are known.

This year was a hoot. I did about 14 more track hours this year than I did the previous year, and used 1.5 less sets of tires and improved my track times. Great news given that I went through 3.5 sets last year and just on my second set of track tires this year. But man did I beat the shit out of those Direzzas. Right to the shredded steel belts.

I went to R based tires mid late season. I'll tell you, compared to Direzzas, there isnt too much difference other than 27$ a tire. In passing, Calabogie Ford has the best prices on NT01s.

I'm really disappointed. I was really hoping to having my track car stripped down and on the rotisserie being put together. It looks like my E92 may end up doing a little track duty again this coming season.

Looking forward to some far and away event outside of our regular haunts.

Cheers.

HPDE is driving school with in-car instructor most of the time, unless instructor sign you off to drive solo.

Lapping, you are mostly solo, with no/limited access to instructors.

Getting ready to tear up the track .... Sweet. Which ones? Fixed set or adjustable? Any other mods (end links, control arms, other bits?)

Congrats! Pretty much a no-brainer this mod.....

But, we do give up in ride quality (in-town driving).

wow so many. I may want to go at Limerock. I will try and do more events in the US this season.

Now I will add a few of these to the Original post but i won't do them all. I will select the proper BMW HPDEs first

Edit : Most of these dates are 1 day only so all I added was a Quattro Club event in May. I will go through the PCA dates that are at least two-day events

It's a little off the beaten track and is a small course. A roller coaster ride when I drove it when I was into bikes, so fun it is ... but I would rather do Mid Ohio, Virginia, Mosport, Shannonville, Gratten, Putnam, Road America, Monticello, or a few others.

I feel the makings of an outing/planning session ...

you may be right bout this. i am basically looking at doing at least 1 or 2 US tracks but driving to Ohio or Virginia is probably out of the question for me, i'd have to take quite a number of days off if i were to drive that far out for a track weekend.

i guess watkins is still on the top of my to-do list right now. was considering lime rock as my other track that i want to try.

I hear you the long distance. It has to be turned into a few days off to accomdate the 9+ hours. Mosport and WG are the best contenders, but I'll be looking for some other different venues. I have 5 weeks of holidays and to the chagrin of my wife, most will be spent around the race track tour this summer. Muhahahaha.

no news yet on viper but i am sure they'll release their schedule soon. i am thinking of doing at least 2 viper events this yr.

i just renewed my BMW QC membership

wont be able to travel outside mtl until mid may for me i think. will have to stick to local events (ICAR/ASE/tremblant) until mid may. which WG event are you looking at ?

May 13th to 15th WG with Porsche Alleghany
It's the only one (as of yet...) that is on the weekend.

I also just realized I won't be doing all 3 days at BAB in August. Will have to settle for Sat & Sun

Signup for the WG is open. A bunch of people (37) have already signed up.
The Friday is Lapping and open to advanced drivers only.
Since the level of the cars is high, since I have never been to WG, I will sign up for the Sat and Sun only. Travel Friday and Monday.

Care to join?
