So I can confirm that "custom jobs" crashes for me too on Windows 8.1.

Perhaps you guys can help me out.... I'm trying to create a job that includes actual boost and the actual boost sensor voltage. I need to see what voltage equates to what boost pressure. So if I can get a custom job or even a log with these in it that'd do the trick.

Ok, please can you check my post #90 for information on how to enable logging. Helps me to trace the actual problem.

Add this into jobs/customjobs/D73N57C0_CUSTOMJOBS.BIV for actual boost and the actual boost sensor voltage

JOBNAME:STATUS_MESSWERTBLOCK_LESEN
VIRTUALNAME:SET_4
JOBCOMMENT:Boost
JOBARGUMENT:JA;IULDF;IPLAD

It should show as 'Boost' in jobs list.

Perfect. Thank you!

And I will run the trace and get back to you so you can look into the Win 8.1 issue.

A couple more requests if possible..... Looking to see voltages of 1st and 2nd Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensors relative to temperature and also the O2 sensor. Possible to pick these up in INPA?

For EGT I found only one value:

Exh_uRawTOxiCatUs - Abgastemperatur vor Katalysator - Rohwert. Which in english means something like: exhaust gas temperature before catalysator. Unit is in mV.

Don't know if this can be found in INPA

Great.... Is that already listed or will I need a custom job for that? Haven't been able to look....

Yes, you'll need a custom job to get voltage. Actual temperature (degrees C) is already listed. But the label is wrong - it reads 'Messwert selectiv lesen' but in reality it refers to STATUS_ABGASTEMPERATUR_KAT. This is not my mistake because it is taken from .prg/.biv itself that is made by some bmw engineers probably. But you can see real jobname at the bottom of the list.

Are there two sensors for EGT (bank1, bank2) ?

P.S. I'm creating a crash dumper functionality into next version so when crash occurs a dump file is created. Then just send the dump file to me.

EDIT: Crash dumper added in latest Test-O package (06th Feb)

Could some of you try this new custom job file for D73N57C0?

There's a new custom job called "RPM,MAF,etc.." that uses different job to get actual values from ecu than other custom jobs.I suspect this could have better resolution over values that ecu gives us. Would be interesting to know...

Thanks.

I'm backed up on a few other things, but will try to look at this in the next day or two.

Thanks for your continuing involvement and product improvement!

Thanks and thanks for testing! Always interested to hear ideas to improve the program..

I already got a few improvement ideas from DWR and looking at those. Also looking at translations for results also. Would be nice to finally get rid of STAT_ASSMOD_WHATEVER although they can be funny sometimes

AsMOD stand for Aus Modell. Meaning the parameter is not an actual reading but a parameter that is modeled within the ECU. For example, turbo turbne rpm is a calculated value. Some parameters can't be determined any other way because there isn't a sensor available to measure the parameter. In some cases, a measured value is compared to a 'modeled' value to determine plausibility.

Have any of you used this set of BMW tools to update your transmission software to the most recent one which supposedly completely transforms the trans? Thoughts? And if you did, which daten version was the update found in? I have v54 but havent had a chance to find out if it has what I want or not. Im sure it does since this release is newer than the thread, hopefully they didnt revert back to the old tune at some point.

This is a very nice diagnostic tool - not for flashing. It can be used to monitor events - DPF regen for example, and to log various DDE labels to troubleshoot a problem.

Interesting.. well, hopefully we'll have this kind of functionality in TestO also

Usually people download everything. But basically for TestO you only need Ediabas and ecu files (.prg extension) in c:\ediabas\ecu directory.

I'm working on a package that contains only Ediabas so that it works with TestO. No need to download INPA and others. You may want to update ecu files (.prg) from SP Daten of course. And OBD/K+DCAN drivers need to be installed for each computer.

Interesting.

So the exhaust drive pressure jobs from here, http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...6&postcount=72, is not the actual sensor data? Or is the AsMOD the "calibrated" value of the sensor? If it's not the real sensor data, have you found the job that does give the actual drive pressure sensor data?

There is an exhaust pressure sensor, in the exhaust manifold, before the turbocharger turbines.
