45k Service, What gets done
Morning chaps :-) Ive got a service due very shortly and the car is on 45k, (2007 car btw)I just wondered if anyone knows what gets done/changed at this type of mileage? As I figured I'd try and get as many of the parts as I can thus reducing the Stealers bill pains me to give them anything, seriously considering an Indy aswell but I'm aware of the "fbmwsh" helps when I come to sell the vehicle, thanks in advance

Wow, my 2007 car is approaching 100k
Since a lot of the servicing is condition based, it's worth checking the iDrive menu (if you have one) or your BC menu (not sure if it's listed there though). The other thing - for a car that's now approaching 5 years old - a full service history will be far more important than whether it's been done at BMW or not. Now that the warranty is well and truly expired, I'd get it done at an independent and save yourself quite a bit of money.

I would go specialist Indy. I personally have no problem buying a car with main dealer through warranty then Indy history thereafter. IMO people who are fussy about having FBMWSH are playing into the dealers hands and costing us all unnecessary expense.
My local Indy, Autotechnic Lutterworth are far better than my local dealership, Sytner Leicester and about 50% cheaper! |

I'd also say visit an independent, in my experience they not only charge less and do a better job but also value customers more.
The place I use for servicing is run by a guy who worked for a BMW dealership for about 20yrs then set-up his own business. |
