Private Message (PM) Members?

How do I PM a member that has responded to one of my posts? I have information for that member that I don't want to post in a regular response.

I've searched and looked everywhere.

Thanks and sorry for the stupid question.

You can't PM until you have 5 posts.

You have to make FIVE posts AND then wait 24 hours(I believe). You also have to enable PM's in your control panel. Sign in and then CLICK on a user's name, the sw will give you options on what to do next.

good luck,
Dackel

Question: I have members sending me PMs that have one or two posts. But then they are not able to PM me back once I respond to them.

What's the official rule on PMs now? Can someone enlighten me?

I would try to PM them your cell phone number instead. (I wouldn't post your number publicly on the forum or IF you do... delete it(the post) in a few hours).

Good Luck,
Dackel

Thanks Dackel. So a member with no post history can send a PM but cannot reply to subsequent PMs?

No. A member needs to make at least FIVE posts... then wait 24 hours before they can make any PM's. They also need to have their preferences setup so they can receive PM's. Because not everyone elects to use the PM function.

Perhaps they can respond to your PM only once? IDK.

I think you only need to make one post now.

So I'm a bit confused atm. Is it one post and then wait an hour? Or 5 posts and wait 24 hours?

No PM

OK. I've been a member for a few years now and have quite a few posts, but over the past week or two, I can't seem to PM anyone. Did something change on the site or did I do something wrong?

This explains why I can't PM DWR for a Transmission Tune. Thanks for the info.

I have the same query, guess I'll see soon enough. I have a car on order and looking for help with coding and the associated s/w, so PM required...
