I very much doubt it. This government seems to be protectionist, and also does not want to be seen to do something that would give us "rich bastards" not buying Corollas or Holden Commodores a break.

hmmmmmm.... don't think so!

This government already put up the LCT and I don't think they are about to give anything back, especially when needing tax revenue more than ever.

I don't really see the problem with being protectionist. I think it makes sense to protect Australian industry. For example Japan has one of the strongest auto industries, and they have very high duty for imported cars.

The high rate of LCT is the thing that I really disapprove of. I already paid my income tax, so why should the government be concerned about whether I spend my money on a house, a boat, a car or an aircraft? The increase of the LCT tax to 33% feels to me as an insult, especially when we already paying 10% GST on cars.

Welcome to the land of Krudd, where you are either a 'working family' or 'rich'

A merc C63? Why would you choose that over a M3 sedan?

Several reasons, tbh i have always been a bimmer fan, i really considered the z4 hard before i got my tt.

1. Ohhhhhh the engine note....
2. Better straight line, wont be tracking my car so really wont feel the difference in handling
3. I think it looks more aggressive on the outside
4. I think it looks better on the inside
5. Also cheaper + corporate program
6. Actually need the other 2 doors

TBH i never even thought about mercs at all.... never paid much attention to them, always been bimmer vs audi person. But went to see it recently and it really turned the tide.

Now just hunting for bargains, getting the price right..

A friend was offered 125k driveaway few months back. That i would take in a heart beat!

I can understand what you say about the sound, The C63 does make an impressive noise more like a traditional V8 engine. Outright power isn't really a prioirty for me, although I wouldn't say no to another 40kW on top of the 325i (It would be great with 200kW). I feel the days of V8 engines are numbered, so better to enjoy it now than wait until they stop making them.
