This came up last week, the traction control light stays light in orange. On startup I get a warning noise with the traction control symbol with an exclamation mark.

Dsc is not working.

Could be one of the sensors eg abs wheel sensor, so fault code would need to be read

I did put new alloys on a week ago... Maybe I've knocked a sensor while fitting them? Although all was fine for a week or so with the alloys before the light come on... Will get the code read in the new year

Just been to see a mechanic, told him the traction control light stays light, and that I had fitted new alloys had I knocked something?

He asked if the new wheels tyres where different sizes to the originals - which they are, I changed from the origional 16" SE alloys 205/55 R16

To 18" staggered fit style 189 which have the correct size run flats on them...

He said this has caused the problem, going from the same size wheels and tires all round, to different from front to back?

Anyone with any knowledge confirm this?

That's bollocks. It's an ABS sensor which has been damaged, disconnected or knocked out of line. There is nothing wrong with running the wheels you have.

Writing same answer to two forum so, will made comment and resume to different posts in order to clarify what are possible problems :

But to start from start
Yesterday I've changed tension strut and as this is required, wheel alignment. After 10-20 km I've got both CC-ID 35 and CC-ID 50 errors and wasn't able to reset. Finally, by reading this post and one post on another forum got some idea what would be the problem, went back to car and paid attention : steering wheel wasn't in correct position. Today went back to service (this is not expensive BMW service, regular one) and insisted to redo wheel alignment with fixed steering wheel in correct position. After maybe 10 km I've stop to buy something and in next start all warnings disappear.

To help someone who may have same errors in future will made some analysis what may affect DTC (i am not expert, this is just common sense) :

- ABS sensors getting wheel speed
- Steering wheel column sensor (I guess there is one) is getting direction
- Error CC-ID 50 is flat tire indicator, calculated by different wheel speed
- Error CC-ID 35 is DTC error, may be affected by all other above

as resume, what can be problem :
- damaged ABS sensor
- wrong steering wheel position after wheel alignment
- different tire pressure
- even strong side wind may cause error (just my guessing)

After each problem checked/solved you need to drive 10-20 km, and MAYBE to stop/start again in order to reset error.

Someone comment error is reset that after he put spare key : this is wrong. This is reset probably because 10-15 km before that he have fixed tire pressure or something else (even maybe weather condition is change and he wasn't driving with side wind)

Error CC-ID 50 is getting wrong tire rotation because steering wheel sensor is giving wrong direction and car is trying to calculate different wheel speed on left and right side.

Error CC-ID 35 is result of previous error, because computer can't measure properly wheel speed he decided to disable DTC because can't properly calculate correction to made.

I hope that may help someone with same problem in future

I had the same issue couple of weeks ago, I got codes 24, 35. AND I FIXED IT

The car used to run perfectly, then out of sudden the engine stalled and it wouldn't start. 10 minutes later it started but with no engine power and several codes popped up. The engine kept stalling every now and then, sometimes it started immediately, sometimes I had to leave it for few minutes

I took it to BMW dealership, they scanned it and the diagnostic was not pleasant:

- CC-ID 24. DBC Dynamic Brake Control Brake Assist Failed.
- 24/35 is due to faulty hydro unit in the DSC.
- faulty steering wheel sensor
- Faulty DDE

As I was not financially ready, I drove the car back home and asked my brother who is Japanese car mechanic to check it for me.

He scanned it again the the same results came back.

YET, and this is the important part, he doubted that issue is caused by faulty hardware, and he insisted it's rather electrical.

So, HERE IS HOW TO FIX IT BY YOURSELF AT ZERO COST

Check the red wires at the battery conjunction bow (the red one on top of the battery), one of the wires was set loose and didn't deliver constant electric current and showed as faulty DSC, DDE failure

MAKE SURE TO ATTACH IT TIGHT IN PLACE AND ENJOY YOUR CAR AGAIN!
