Do these numbers sound right for a lease?

total selling price for my e92 335i is $46,725. Got a lease quote from my CA with a money factor of 1.85 and residual of 61%. So total depreciation would be $17,307. Anyway, the quote is $621 a month for 36 months, 10K a year, and $4,267 due at signing. Do these numbers sound right or a little high? I will probably go the financing route though.

money factor of 1.85 is wrong... thats like 4000 something % and i also think that $4267 is too much down for a lease for that low miles/year.

im just reading off the quote he emailed me. What is the money factor anyway? And yea there is no way i would every put $4k down on a lease. Less than $2500 and i would probably do it.

money factor should be like .0018 and then you mutiply it by 2400 to get your actual interest rate. yea i would go even less than 2500 for a lease... i bought mine with 11k down.

if i leased i would plan on buying it afterwards because its the perfect color combo for me and i would like to have it 6 or 7 years. But i figure if i finance and put around 20K down and finance for 4 years i would be better off. If i were to lease i would like to get payments in the 500's but don't know if that would happen

If you're going to buy at the end of the lease you might as well buy it now because it will be more expensive otherwise. You could do European Delivery and buy the car for about $41k + tax & license which should put you right around $45k out the door.

With $20k down you can finance it for 5 years/60 months and have your payments around $420 + interest. If you want you can always pay the car off sooner and also refinance the car whenever you like.

Yea but i have been thinking lately about the ED and i wouldn't be saving much off of it. Say i get $5K off MSRP for doing ED. I would discount the current $1500 i got off MSRP from my CA and that would leave me at $3500. Then another $1500 for flight and Hotel. Another $400 or so while im there. Then the wait for the car while i'm here and making that extra monthly payment while waiting for the car. Lets say that's $500. In the end i would save roughly $1000. Still a good deal considering the trip to germany and the experience but now that i think about it i wouldn't save much at all.

With your car priced at $47k you will save about $6,500. You'd save about $2500 after the trip. Also, dont make a payment til 2 weeks before you go. So in essence you'd only have to pay for 2-3 weeks without driving the car. BMW covers the 2nd payment so you're good. It's just that you get a vacation and save $2500 why not do it?
