It's clear contact paper. You can get it at any hardware store. It peels right off with no residue.

hmm interesting. Do you know how long it will stay on without leaving a residue? Only reason i ask is i taped up my whole bumper 2..3 days before my track event because i knew i didnt have time to do it the day right before.

yeah that'd cost quite a bit for what you want. i just got my front bumper, a quarter of my hood, grills, headlights, front lip, side mirrors. so far i'm happy with it. zoeb did full hood and that's too much money. haah

I found something better today. I picked up 4 rolls (20 square feet) of "clear adhesive book cover roll" at Office Depot for a whole $12. It's made to be applied and removed without causing damage to the surface. If it can be applied to a book for several months and removed without a problem then leaving it on your car for a day or so would be no sweat.

This is a temporary fix before I get a full clear bra. I have a track day this Friday and I won't be able to get the bra installed in time. Knowing how bad the front end of my race car gets chewed up after a race weekend I refuse to go out even on a less intense lapping day with an unprotected virgin bumper.

are you comparing the surface of a book and a car?

If I can pull a adhesive backed piece of plastic that's been sitting on an object made of fragile paper for several months without causing damage to said object, I'm fairly certain factory cured paint on a car will fair just fine for a few days. This material is specifically designed to not cause damage to surfaces.
