2009 N57 BAD black smoke at Idle etc after DPF (EGR?) delete. Sensor issues?

Hi..I’d really appreciate some expert advice/help. You guys know your stuff. My cars been practically undriveable since I had DPF removed 6 months ago! Its 2009 N57 E91 110k miles DFP removed – really BAD black smoke when idling. Also heavy black smoke when gently accelerating. Worse black smoke when hard acceleration/under heavy loads. I had major DPF/EGR issues about 6 months ago. DPF would not auto/manual regenerate.

Regretfully I had DPF removed (basically it was cut open, guts taken out) and rewelded (not sure if Cat was also gutted out) and then re-mapped. Also had it carbon cleaned at same time. I was told EGR was removed via software re-map not via physically blanking plate. New inlet manifold was added prior to DPF delete this year inc swirl flaps I assume. Engine runs very really well BUT since then I’ve had really BAD black smoke on idle (car stinks of diesel) and when she smokes (black) bad when booted just a bit. I have really not driven it since. I was told it wouldn’t smoke after DPF delete. I can just about accept smoke when I boot it hard but not when it’s just idling. Its bad!.

I was told by the guys who deleted my DPF that it wouldn’t smoke after removal. BS.

After I’d complained about smoking original “workshop!” did 2 x smoke tests..they found no air leaks apparently... Then they replaced crankcase breather hose (15 quid part) ..but it’s still smoking the same…I then paid to get all 6 Injectors tested (all tested ok) and cleaned ultrasonically… injectors were re-coded.Then someone advised to take off first re-map and have it re-mapped again….unfortunately no better..still BAD smoking.

I have ISTA+/Rheingold software, Carista, Autel MaxiAP200 and now BimmerTool (paid version) ODB2 diagnostics tools. I’m trying to be logical to figure out issue and not to assume its related to DPF delete?

I’m assuming its related to too much fuel/ unburned fuel? Possibly a sensor – air mass (MAF), manifold air pressure (MAP), turbo/turbo (air) pipework ??

I’m getting fed up throwing away lots of money only on getting new parts fitted by mechanics (parts fitters) recommendations only to not solve the problem. It’s not their money.

I’ve seen the following error messages appearing/disappearing as I’ve been running OBD2 tool tests:Air mass meter (4BC2) – via Bimmer-Tool
•Air mass sensor (3FF1) or (004BC2) via Bimmer-tool and ISTA+
•Intake air temperature sensor (3F70) or 003F70 via Bimmer-Tool and ISTA+
•Fuel pre-supply pressure control (4DBA) (004BDA) – via Carista and ISTA+
•Rail pressure plausibility delivery-controlled (supply) (4590) – via Carista and ISTA+
•Rail pressure monitoring on engine start (004B90) – via ISTA+
•Smooth running regulator -cylinder 1 (4DE7)

Also final question(s) ..sorry…where can I find the expected test values (nominal?) for my ODB2 diagnostic tool test readings…(air flow, fuel flow, pressures, temperatures, voltages and so on) and is it safe to delete all adaptations (can I delete selective adaptions?).I’ve also another issue in that my rear tailgate hatch widow wont lock – I have to gaffer tape it….I’ll save that for another day ..thank you if anyone can help me out here..I really appreciate it…Richard
