Yeah, thanks. Car feels like a different machine. Love the power delivery. I'll still be getting an Ecotunes DPF delete I think. Not now thou.

In the meantime, I'm sorting out different areas of the car. Recently I took off the side skirts and got few good handful of all sorts of junk. To that I've done a good engine bay clean and waxed the car. I used a machine to polish the wax off which came out nicely.

Remap print out photo. Will get a scan soon:

Side skirts removed:

Junk:

Getting them nicely cleaned

Engine bay cleaning

All components perfectly cleaned

More photos and updates coming soon! And relax about the exhaust, I will sort it out!
Thanks,
Damian.

How did you get the side skirts off? Are they just screwd on?

10 screws under the car and clips along side the car. They are solid build and I clips can be replaced if broken.

My mum got me one of those polishers you used about 3 weeks ago, i tryed it on my dads boot lid and didn't rate it that much, but yours looks ok.

Did you just use the two pads that they come with?

Did you just use Turtle wax?

This stuff......PoorBoys Black Hole Shine Glaze - Dark Colours 16oz.....works wonders on black cars its worked well on my Black Sapphire.....

Yours looks nice and clean, the only prob in our country is trying to keep black clean eh...

^ what he said!

you're creating more work for yourself using that much wax. Apply by hand, and remove by hand.
Those shitty rotary polishers are terrible. And if you haven't decontaminated the paint properly, you'll be causing damage.

Get yourself a nice filler/glaze (autobrite cherry glaze, poor boy black hole, 50cal cover up, or even autoglym SRP), and then top with a nice wet looking wax like R222

I have used two pads with the Turtle wax. To be honest its good for removing wax but nothing else.

You are right, sir. I've tried it out and never again. I'm planning to try out few different things this summer.

As un update, I've managed to get my CIC trim wrapped in faux leather, looks much better then standard hex look.

Liking the leather - I'm trying to upgrade my trims to walnut, but walnut CIC centre consoles are like hen's teeth, so this could be an option...

Have you got any more details?

I never done this myself as I wanted a good finish, I had it done at the upholstery shop I work at. They also provided the leather which is stretchy material, just like in a M3.

I'll try to take some close ups soon as will be doing other work to the car.

Like I've said above, I've done this at my upholstery shop @ www.realupholsterer.co.uk The finish is great, even thou my trim was hex. Only negative is the ash tray lid is tight fit, although still opens and closes fine. It also feels much more premium than regular aluminium trim.

More updates soon,
Thanks.

Leather centre console really does make a difference really like it, I'm about to "lay about "with another set of trims on mine. Alcantara was my first though but the leather type look on yours has got me thinking

Yes, it does change the inside a bit. I was considering the alcantara for a bit, but just wanted to go M3 style.

For anyone needing, I have found out what material the upholsterers have used, and its this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2812646257...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Also, I have now messaged my exhaust guy, so will hopefully sort out my sticking out exhaust tips and I won't get any more hassle from it.

Thanks,
Damian.

Thanks for that - Noted that Stretch Tech do the same vinyl in beige / cream, so I've ordered a sample to check colour match on my car.

Would your firm be willing to trim my centre console in the same way? If so, can you please give me a rough idea of the price? (Feel free to PM if you'd rather).

(I've finally picked up some walnut trims from eBay, and would like to get them fitted ASAP - But need to retrim the centre console first! )

Car looks great mate! Curious as to where you're from though? One of your pictures looked like an estate in Bo'ness?
