E90 330i on the track... anything to look out for?

So i'm taking my stock 330i with zsp to the track soon and was wondering if there is anything i need to look out for and or change on the car before going. Ive heard that the brake pads are somthing to look out for, are the stock ones fine or should i change?

Any other advice would be great! I'm really excited to figure out what this car can really do!

In all seriousness, the stock pads are fine for the casual track day. Just keep an eye on the brakes and tires. Contact the track and see if you'll need a helmet (likely you will), if you have your own, it's much better then borrowing a nasty rental lid. Wear some comfortable shoes, and just go at your own pace. Don't feel pressured to drive faster then you feel comfortable. Have fun!

First timer? If so, go with a seasoned track guy and learn from him/her. Always go with an instructor until you get pretty darn good at it... Err on the safe side whenever you have to make a decision to "go for it" or "let it go."

At least that's just me, but I'm not hyper competitive at the track and I'm still a semi-n00b. I go out there for fun and not for times, in fact I don't even have my laps timed.

Thanks for the responses guys. Yes, I will be going with a friend who is a very experienced track driver but I will be going out with an instructor as well. The only requirement is that i need to bring my own helmet. I'm really looking forward to it.... hopefully I won't have the slowest car out there that day.... haha.

I don't plan on timing my laps just looking to have fun!

If it's your first time, don't worry about the pads. Bleed the brakes, though.

You shouldn't be driving fast enough to kill the stockers. I'm not saying that to be mean - you should drive slow to learn how to be fast. Focus on the technique - speed will come later.

You'll do fine. The 330i is a nice machine on the track. I tracked mine a half dozen times or more before trading up to the 335i.

You'll notice either the DSC coming on (no LSD) or if you have traction control off, wheel spin, when you try to power out of slow corners.

The Bridgestone Run Flats turn in nice, but the rears get a bit squirmy when hot.

Brakes should be more than fine.
