I presume this is a generic map not a custom one ?? What sort of time frame the offer going on for?

I have 320d and thinking about getting it mapped and seeing your knowledge and amount of forum cars you have had I might take the trip to you.

Offer wise it'll end when a)A1 haven't received any demand or bookings b)feel that the price charged doesn't warrant the work involved and c)when the offers run its course.

So I understand it's on for a while

Key is to ask questions via the supplied email address with the following information.

1/ registration number
2/ make/model
3/ desired re map required (are you looking for power above all else, are you looking for good power with a degree of economy, are you towing) that sort of thing.
4/ date you are looking to have the re map carried out(this is the driving key bend the offer)getting people to actually say yes.

Russ all files are generic, but can/will be altered to suit a particular customers needs/requirements.

On it Sam, A1 work with 2 company's both of which have played with a lot of F Series cars including a rather rapid 335d Xdrive I went in a couple of weeks ago. TriCore wise as you know it's up'n'running now in time it will be rolled out and happy to keep you up to date re what's going on once I'm informed

I will be looking for a pro tune soon. Without a dyno, how will you alter? Or will it be a case of logging and altering as you go?

As you know A1 are without a dyno, the maps etc. offered are all tested. If you look at the remapping site you'll see who is looking after A1. http://www.a1bnspecialist.uk/remapping/

A1 have been concentrating on the one map for one customer for one car cinerio but the various tuning boxes where various maps can be loaded is an option that's open but has yet been requested.

Absolutely no doubt that the tuner who builds these maps is awesome. I've heard all about him in the industry.

I'm just curious on another level if he could look at some of my logs after the tune is installed and alter them to be even more specific to my engine and performance…? I hear a lot of people in the states doing this remote tuning stuff…. I am unsure if it has reached the UK shores yet

Sounds good to me, e-mail sent, though it appears that the e-mail you've put up has a problem as I get a bounceback.

I'm guessing it is

Hi Steve,

I have 170k on my 320d LCI, can it take the re map?

Will everything fall into pieces after a few months due to the mileage on my car?

Thanks in advance

1. Where or who have you sourced your map from? Feel free to PM if you'd rather not say on here.

2. Will you be offering free updates?

Thanks

Any car to a degree can be re mapped but good housekeeping comesinto play as you want to ensure there are no issues or potentually a problem re mapping a car that has the mileage you state.

A diagnostic chek first a visual che second is the way to go re this if there is an issue many places(and we've seen this happen)will re map a sick car. The sick car has an increase re power but your stress a car that's not running correctly in the first place.

We don't like turning any custoemr away but there are times when if we discover an issue we would rather park te re map on the back burner make the customer aware of a potentual issue and get this sorted first of all. Sometimes returning a car back to health can produce a power increase in itself

Therefore if booked in to us for a re map we do the following.

1/ test drive & pre work diagnostic check to see what the cars general health may well be like.
2/ where issues might be raised a physical check over to see what visually we can see.

Once everything is addressed and we are happy to re map then yes it will be carried out.
