/\ good plan
It is always recommended to replace suspension components in pairs I also got my msport springs from ECP (sachs ones which are OEM anyways) Pay the premium at BMW (which you dont have to) |

BMW seem notorious for snapping. My e90's been fine but my previous Z4 had 2 snapped springs when I bought it - used them to bargain the price down enough to buy Eibach replacements

Hi. Still not fixed!
Does anyone know any good mobile mechanics in Sutton Coldfield/Birmingham area. I've been let down by a few local companies that were meant to come out to me. Is changing a spring something that can be done on a driveway or am I best receovering it to a garage. Just concerned that moving it may cause more damage as the spring is no longer within it's holder and close to the tyre and break lines and even if it's on a truck the suspension will move. If there is anyone local to me that would be able to fix it on my drive (for a fee obviously) let me know. Tempted to get some spring compressors and give it a go myself at the moment. |

Don't drive it.
If you're confident enough with basic tools, take off the complete shock absorber yourself and take it to a garage for them to compress the new spring and fit to the shock. My chum did this as we just couldn't get the spring to compress using normal clamps. |
