335i HPFP Who's had one replaced

As per title interested to know who's had one repalced on a 335i. I know the usual symptoms but I've got a starage one that I know doesn't produce the susal faults and was wondering apart from the usual long crank faults who's had once replaced and for what reason

My one has had 2.
The first was for poor cold starting and the second was done because of a fault code when the car went over 5krpm. I think they did it at the same time as the turbo actuators

I've just had to replace mine twice inside of 6 months! Both times I've had high pressure plausibility codes. I bought the latest pump so hopefully it wont need replacing again any time soon!

I replaced mine a couple of weeks ago, was getting usual HPFP fault codes and going into limp mode as well as the long crank. Replaced with the latest P/N (ends in 170) and all perfect now.

Bloody hell! Considering I've had 2 N54s over the last 8 years, I've been lottery winner lucky to only need 1, which I put down to my mods and not the car anyway!

Hope you're now on the latest version of the HPFP, everything I've read about it seems to say it's solved the issues.

I've had one replaced. The only issue I had was hesitation under low RPM acceleration (similar symptoms to plugs/coils), but BMW confirmed it was the HPFP.

Mine seems ok, fingers crossed!

Don't see any history of it being replaced by previous owner

I've been lucky with the HPFP… but everything else seems to have failed lol

THe best way to figure out if you have a HPFP fault is to do some logs and hard pulls and see how the HPFP behaves. You can see if it is crapping out

Now that's the unusual type answer I was looking for its kind of out the ordinary for the ussual HPFP failure as ther are no faults where do you start? Everything stacks up for this type of fault yet as there are no codes where do you start? But your answer CJ is agreat one and sounds like mine hence the thread being created and hence the lack of symptoms I supplied on my OP as I was looking for the non long crank type answers, the issue I think I'm having is very rare and a sod to nail.

At around 1200-1300rpm hold the throttle you get a slight misfire type sensation, under acceleration say 1400rpm upwards lightish throttle again you can feel a slight holding back/misfire(as CJ's stated) symptom you can actually hear it from the outside as a kind of "surging" though I use this term losely but yep that's the type of answer I was hoping someone would put forward. I was also thinking low pressure sensor as well

Of course ther are no faults whatsoever smooth running on mines spot on as well. But thanks CJ
