Replace grab handle e92 options???

So my drivers handle is heavily scratched and pitted from a female previous owner
So my options are looking to respray it as its only plastic, does anyone know how to remove it? Does the full door card have to come off also??

Or has anyone done anything different with it apart from spray them?

Whilst the question isn't fantastically worded, granted (but seeing as it's mentioned a plastic one that is painted, and talking about removing door cards to access it, I would hazard a guess we're talking about the exterior door handle.....), but nevertheless........fuckin' LOL!

Question:

"How do I remove the door handle"

Answer....straight off the bat, first reply:

All posts on this thread aside from the picture posted above (well done that man), have made no sense at all. Key words like "interior" and at least a vague description of "by the window switches" would have been good.

To be honest, if we're now going on the assumption it's that interior handle, then the 3rd post down is clarified somewhat as well- and I second that question of how you shut the door if you have no handle anymore to hold onto?

FWIW, BMW's crappy rubberised coating that seems to make an appearance on various parts of the car that people regularly come into contact with doesn't seem up to the job. Whether that's because of rings, different people's skin/sweat, who knows - but it's pretty hopeless. Yet to find anything else that is close enough match that it doesn't look out of place. Plastidip is kind of close-ish, but no cigar. I'd just get a new bit myself.

This is what I also assumed the OP meant, in which case the old MK4 platform of VAG cars you used to be able to remove the trim and rub it down it hot water with a kitchen sponge with the green 'Brillo-style' scourer on the back and they'd come out pretty nice

However back to the first question yes I believe the whole door card has to come off to be able to remove it completely, although I didn't pay much attention when I had them removed
