But that's what the e-dipstick does, it has an oil quality sensor built into the oil level sensor that measures the level of contamination of the oil. The methodology that determines the contamination level is way more accurate than just eyeballing the oil on a dipstick.
I agree, i rather have a E dipstick. Very clever and everyone gives me compliments when i say "vehicle status" and the e dipstick pops up on idrive. I can see my oil on the fly while others cant and they have a percentage instead if they do.

6,000 miles. It's a habit, I'm sure I could go longer, but I've seen way too many horrific engines where the oil wasn't changed and have been scarred for life.

I use it mainly as an opportunity to pull off the plastic covers and inspect everything also.

Lately every 5k. But Blackstone told me that even with my short trips in traffic that I could try longer with Liqui Moly 05W/30.

This is good to know. Looks like PP will reimburse up to 12 payments.

I'm sure you're correct, it's probably "better". I still don't care for it as the only option, both would be preferable. I'm not enamored of even "new" 20 yr old technology in the same way that I don't really need my car deciding when to shift, I don't need it telling me when to change it's oil.

Just the plastic belly pan, gives me a chance to look at the suspension/steering, the brakes, and check for any leaks.

I just did this last night. Cleaned the belly pan too since I dropped coolant on it while taking the expansion tank out.

Now that it is clean, I can see leaks better

Once you put the used oil back in the 5 and 1 quart bottles, other than putting them all in a plastic bag do you guys do anything else to the bottles to keep them from spilling or seeping out during transport? Always been curious of this.

My 5k interval is coming up along with air and AC filter, I’ll get from FCP this time.

I wrap duct tape around the caps.

They usually won't leak but just for good measure.

Nope, I just put a zip tie on the plastic bag and use the same box/any packing material that was in there before.

My friend doesn’t. He keep adding. No need to change the oil when every week or so fresh quart is added. I sometimes change it only single track day. If I ran extremely hard

I was wondering about this myself. My 325 burns about a quart every 1000-1500 miles. My oil changes are based on when I run out of oil to add, so I buy two 5 quart jugs, use 7 for the oil change then have three quarts left to add as needed. This means my oil change interval is anywhere from 4000-6000 miles.

My only concern about not ever changing and constantly topping off is the source of the oil consumption. If it's just leaking past the valve guide seals and getting burnt that's fine, but if it's fresh oil leaking past the rings I'm concerned that unburnt fuel or combustion byproducts may be leaking the other way past the rings and contaminating the oil.

That’s good. You supposed to change the oil. To drain all the contaminants and debris. The oil filter too.

Wait... So you’re saying you’ve changed your oil every 1,000 miles? I guess when my grandchildren ask me why California burns to the ground every year and why half the earth is underwater, I can read them the story of Mosaud and his 1,000 mile OCI

Thanks for the PayPal tip though! I’ll have to try that out. TBH to date I’ve always just bought oil locally because it doesn’t seem worth it to return my old stuff. I’m in Canada so I’d be paying the ship the new stuff too... With the PayPal development I’ll have to figure out if it might now make sense.

LMAO, hey man whatever suits ya boat

I actually didn't change the oil 4 times on purpose.

The first time I changed it was when I brought the car from the PO. It was due for an oil change.

Second time my indy changed it when they did the OPG.

The third time I changed it 6 months/5k miles after my indy changed it.

So, I guess I changed it 3 times. My calculations were off.

I regularly use FPC and ship items back for refunds but was unaware of the PP return shipping service. I don't see how to sign up for or activate it though. The link says go to activity but when I do I cannot see how to activate. Can someone help?

Our E93 has it changed whenever the OBC tells me it wants to go to the garage

I assume it's been twice during our 4 year / 15k ownership but TBH I ain't counting, apart from the pennies

It's a 320d with 44k on the clock so pretty bullet proof I'm hoping 🙏🏻

We have a G20 330e for the graft, so the E93 just does the sunshine trips
