Reading back in an earlier post by Technic, it would appear that you dont necessarily have to have the PnP harness, it sounds as if any connector which fits the PnP input of the Blaupunkt amp would suffice. Hopefully, trying to find a connector that fits teh blaupunkt amp isnt difficult. I wonder if Radio shack has anything... Hopefully Technic will chime in. I should hopefully still be able to send the harness back to Crutchfield!! |

The connector to plug into the THA275 is in that extension cable. I don't think that it is cost effective to get that $60.00 cable to just cut the connector. A female Molex pin should be able to fit that THA275 PnP connector jack. I apologize for this major oversight of my part... |

For sure there are Molex connectors that work for the Blaupunkt amps, I know a guy who installed them. I don't know the reference of them, but there are :-D

OK, I ordered the Blaupunkt THA1250PnP from Crutchfield for $180 after coupon. Pretty good deal on this amp. It is a mono amp so I will wire my two SWS-8 4 ohm woofers (also bought this week) in parallel, which will give the amp a 2 ohm load. At that impedance, it puts out 300W, so 150W per woofer which is perfect. I know I would not be satisfied with 75 or 90W of the smaller amp, and for only $50 more, I think it is a wise investment.

Yep, I would only be using the pins not the plastic connector. I would imagine the only plastic connector which would be an exact match would be from that extension harness crutchfield sells for $60!!

UPDATE
Went to radio shack and bought the female connectors. They were too big/loose so I had to 'crush' them with a pair of pliers slightly. They fit on their snug now, but the other issue is they have no wrapping/tubing to prevent an occasional 'touch'. I am looking to find some heat shrink tubing or perhaps I may just wrap the ends with electrical tape to prevent them touching once they are inserted. I was thinking maybe to purchase the real working harness for $45 then selling off the ends to whomever needs one for like $5 shipped lol... |

Good News!!
I think I've found a CHEAP solution!!! I removed the output connector that comes with the Blaupunkt amp and is plugged into the LS output jack. I examined it closely and found very small serial numbers on the sides which I then search on google for. There was also a company logo with a P but I was unfamiliar with which company it was from. After some online research, I was able to find the manufacturer of these plugs which even provides these connectors for Blaupunkt among many other companies... The numbers were IC 2.5 (which is the maximum wire entry diameter for a solid wire) and below that 5.08 (which is the pitch or distance between each of the connectors). The last important tidbit is the # of positions/pins. On the opposite side the numbers read PA66-FR. These connectors are manufactured by Phoenix Contact which is also has US HQ in Pennsylvania. I've found a website which sells them here but it's becoming difficult to get a price... http://catalog.tycoelectronics.com/c...1914,31915&N=9 http://www.phoenixcontact.com/ I've found this other site which lists their price but its hard to tell from the angle of the picture if its the right connector... http://www.mouser.com/Search/Refine....rd=651-1758377 |
