Restore a E92

Hi I hope you can help I have purchased a E92 which somebody has butchered the stereo side with an after marker radio. End result is the reversing sensors do not work. Stop/Start Button does not work and nor does the steering wheel functions. Problem is I do not know what the original looks like to compare.

If you have a moment could you please take a look at what I am left with and kindly let me know what I need to put it back to BMW standard for this model.

Thank You.

So sorry, it was hacked up like that... looks like a good vehicle with a desired manual transmission and sports package. I don't have any suggestion on how to get it back to stock with working functions... but hope you can get it sorted out without spending too much time or money on it!

Those stereos usually plug into the factory harness.
It might just be an issue where the wheel controls don’t work with the stereo and a stock stereo would resolve that.

Wheel controls could also be disconnected within the wheel.

What year is your E92?

Chances are the PDC (reverse sensors) beeps are played though your head unit in your car (early models had a separate speaker in the rear shelf).

You’ll need a new / used BMW radio (I’d recommend a BMW Professional unit personally). What speaker system do you have?

Auto start/stop could be due to a myriad of factors. Does the button light up with the dash lights at night? It plugs into the ac controls (IHKA), maybe it’s not plugged in properly?
