TUNING: Exhaust Vanos

I'm coming from the B58 forums but there aren't many knowledgeable tuners sharing tuning advice on that forum, so I've decided to come here where I know there are plenty of talented individuals who could give some insight.

The attached image is the intake spread and exhaust spread for the VANOS B58 Gen1. I am trying to learn what I can about adjusting VANOS to mitigate timing pull during spool, to reduce EGR etc. I understand that it will be different for every car but I just want a general nudge in the right direction.

For instance during spool at 90 load and 2,000 rpm intake spread is at 83.4 deg while exhaust spread is at 104.0 deg. How does this relate to Lobe Separation Angle (LSA)? The image with LSA is a simplified version of the concept because it does not include VANOS. But am I supposed to assume intake is 83.4 deg clockwise and exhaust is 104.0 deg counter clockwise from the bottom of the base circle (COMP CAMPS FIGURE).

Any insight whatsoever will help even if it doesn't answer any of my questions. I just want to understand these tables better.
