If your fog lights have excessive glare it could be the design of the bulb used, otherwise fog lights are perfectly legal to use in or out of fog.

Depends on the local legislation, in my country for an example it is illegal to drive with your fog lights on unless the visibility is compromised by fog.

They don't really enforce it anywhere, but interesting question why specifically in lapland?

Probably just some random law. In Massachusetts I have to have my headlights on as of 2018 if my windshield whipers are one. That law makes no sense to me...I mean I am sure it is for safety just like your law...but does it really save any lives or is it just another reason to give out tickets and stop cars?

That's actually a law in many other states. Visibility can be limited in the rain, thus the requirement for lights on. Some cars even come standard with automatic wipers on/lights on features.

I actually like this law. DRLs help, but there are older cars on the roads that don't have them. Depending on how bad it's raining, it can be difficult to see them if they don't have any lights on.

I plan on ordering these, especially since the oem fog bulbs are so damn ugly. Are you using the h11s which is the fiitment for Msport fogs?Since they are considerably brighter than the oems, are they still oncoming traffic friendly?

I have the Msport front bumper & fogs and the V1s. They are oncoming traffic friendly IMO. They kind of point at the ground as you can see in my pics. I'm not at all worried they they might blind an oncoming driver.

The best solution is projector fog light housings. I can clearly see the cutoff on mine with bright LEDs and have never had any issues with glaring oncoming traffic.

Are they available for the mtech bumper? I agree, projectors make the most sense and a nice cutoff.

Anyone know who would do a projector retrofit? I wouldn't mind some 55w HID projector fog lights...

Yup. I got mine with my MTech bumper from Ikon Motorsports.

Assuming they fit, I might just have to upgrade! Kind of makes me just want to go with 55W HIDs...IIRC those should still be bright than LED, if not brighter, at least a more colorful cutoff.

35w HID will produce ~3200 Lumens of output. 55w HID will produce 4,500 – 5,500 Lumens of output.

We offer LED upgrades over 6000 Lumens. Although 55W HID are good the benefit of LED is less heat, less energy, no burn in time, no start up and no ballasts. With some 55W HID on 35W wiring you run into potential risks.

Something to think about.

Just to add, I found a pic of the cutoff of my eBay OEM style M-Sport projector fog lights. Nice and crisp, no chance of blinding oncoming drivers.
