Soo my parking lights are reversed after recalls
I had the two electrical recalls done recently by global imports bmw in Atlanta and they fucked yet another thing up Im pretty sure (ive literally never had my car in there without them screwing something up, its why I never take it there).
I went to go use my parking lights and my rears are backwards. I go to put the left parking lights on and the front left comes on but the rear right, vice versa. The only thing I have had touched would be up front under the dash. So now I have to trace that shit down and find out how to fix it. If you live in Atlanta do not let Global Imports anywhere near your car. Every single time I have trusted them to try (not many and went like 2 years between so figured Id trust them with this recall) they have done some shit like this. |

If this wasn't happening before your visit and only started to occur after you picked the car up, why should you have to do the work yourself? I don't know that dealer/shop personally, but if you're getting an actual recall done from BMW, then the shop that does it is held to a certain standard. Go back and explain the situation to them and they should make it right.

Ill have to try, its just that Global is literally right around the corner so I used them. Although now I know the process of getting BMW to pay an independent for recalls so I wont even use them for that anymore.
Ran codes and all of this fun shit now: A559 - Instrument Cluster (probably just mad from getting its power pulled) E18F - Central registry doesnt match target config (probably just a software thing) But these all relate to the area they would have been working: A0B5 - DFAHL Cable Break, Signal detection speed error C90B PT Can Communication Fault A6CF AUC Sensor And the ones related to my lights that is A8AD - parking light right defective A8C6 - DRL right defective A8C5 - daytime running lights defective All of these lights work and there were no issues prior. Does anyone have a copy of the instructions on what they did for the two electrical recalls? Maybe I can trace it and see what they messed up. |

Is most definitely software issue. VW dealer kind of did the same to my 2006 Passat and then 2010 CC. After some software updates the trunk opened the fuel tank, and the fuel button popped the trunk.

If its software is it something that could be resolved on my own? Ive got a cable and a laptop. If I can resolve this without taking back to them it would be ideal. |

Global Imports has always been a pain in the butt for my recall repairs. United (either Gwinnett or Roswell) seem to be superior, but Global's location is so much better.

I think that I'd been to Global 2-3 times and thought that they're a little too big for their own good. That said, I'd take it back and let them sort it out. It's their mess, let them clean it up.

Can someone explain why we’d want to turn on just one side?
We’ve covered how it’s done, but I can’t say that this would be part of a test that I’d run on a recently returned vehicle. Looking for more details, thanks! |

It only illuminates the parking light on the one side of the car that you want it on. Some places in Europe it is mandatory to use a parking light in certain roads or tight areas.
