Aftermarket Bumper Options
Hi all,
My clear coat is peeling and have some damage to my front and rear bumper on my e90 LCI 3er. Per my local body shop replacement is the most economical option. They quoted $3280 for oem, which is out of my budget (and i could go for a more aggressive look). From the research ive done I've concluded that ebay and amazon listings with PP casted arent a good option considering they all have limited/fake reviews everywhere. The 3rd party vendors mostly have duraflex or other sketchy materials. Does anyone know of any good aftermarket options on this? And on a separate note, im looking for a rear that has quad exhaust. Can that even work on a 328 with the dual tip exit? (Is there room behind the axel to fit an exit on the other side?) Any info would be a plus. |

For my pre-LCI e90, I got an M3-replica front bumper from ebay seller bestracingmotors, and an M-Sport replica rear bumper from www.tunerstock.com. Both were around $350 and turned out very well.

When I needed to have the front end repaired on my LCI E90, instead of repairing the bumper, I found it was cheaper to get an M3 Rep bumper from one of the big shops. It was a very good fit and pretty durable. Here's a pic:
I was planning to get an M Sport rear bumper w/diffuser but got rid of the car before I got to it.

I got an m3 rep off eBay, it was one of the poly propylene ones. I'd say fitment was an 8 1/2 or nine out of 10 to be honest all I really had to do was heat up the area right in front headlights and push it up just a touch, everything else lined up really well. I also took the time to shave the headlight washer covers off, since I don't have that option

If I were to wager a guess, all the pp m3 rep bumpers come from one Far East factory (I think Taiwan). And regardless of weather the seller is on eBay or a vendor here, they are probably getting a bulk buy on alibaba (or similar).
Then pricing comes down to 2 factors. 1. The sellers purchase price, based primarily on their purchase quantities. 2. What they can get away with charging. Which would be based on the perceived value of the sellers name. (I.e. reputation for customer support and such). |

Everyone wants that "M3" look. They always look more aggressive which is why people tend to gravitate towards them. Or they wrecked their car |
