Safest way to 400hp N55

I just purchased a 2012 BMW 335i coupe. I'll be using it as DD so I'm wanting to stay as far away from issues as I can but I also want more power. What would be the safest way I could reach 400+hp? I was thinking DCI, FMIC, MHD, then Catless DP in that order.

Did you mean 400 HP to the wheels or the crank? if you meant to the crank then yes those mods will get you there with pretty good reliability if it's tuned properly. I highly recommend getting a custom tune with e85. if you want 400 to the wheels then you'll need an upgraded turbo. N55 has a single intake so no DCI.

^^above poster is correct.

n55 will max out around 380ish whp. need an upgraded turbo to reach 400whp (at least on the e-chassis).

Stage one will get you into the low-mid 400s (40-75whp above stock turbo depending on fueling) while stage 2 will net you as much as your fueling permits (600+whp).

Sorry for not specifying but yes I meant to the crank. And thanks for the help! Is there anything else I could do just to make sure everything runs efficiently and smooth?

Make sure maintenance is up to date. Specifically spark plugs so that you aren't misfiring all over the place.

You'll want to upgrade your charge pipe before you tune it.

Scratch that 400-420hp with 15% loss assumed. So even worse, 340-357 WHP?!

No, he is saying mid 400whp which has never been achieved yet. You will not see 600+whp on a PS2 either. His numbers are pretty high. PS1 max so far is at 426whp and PS2 seems pretty topped out at 560whp. Those are both being pushed extremely hard and aren't DD numbers.

For 400 crank hp do the charge pipe, tune, dp and fmic. If you have at least 93 oct you are going to be right around 400hp (340whp). If you are stuck with 91 oct you will probably need meth injection to get there and it will take you a bit higher even. If you have E85 available you can hit 360whp easily.

I plan on running an e30 map for those numbers. I won't be doing a pure turbo upgrade for a while.

Do you have any idea of what type of hp/tq numbers to expect with MHD e85 tune, dp, fmic, running the 93/40% meth mix??

If you get the ER FMIC get the black anodized version, looks sweet cuz you can't see it through the grille!

That was a long time ago before the PS2 came out. The next highest was 408whp I believe. I think the 426 was probably a high reading dyno. It was a FBO E series N55 with a very aggressive tune.
