Bump stops - Bilstein B12 Kit

I will be installing the Bilstein B-12 lowering kit w/ Eibach springs, on my 07 BMW 335i sedan sometime in the next 2 weeks.

I got the all the parts from FCP Euro. They are competitively priced and have a lifetime warranty on all of their parts.

I also got my shipment with in 3 days of ordering, which was nice.

I noticed on the rear shocks that the bilsteins came with their own bump stops. I did not know that they did.

I bought Lemforder bump stops for the rear not knowing that the Bilstein rear shocks came with their own.

So, the question of the day is, do I send the Lemforder bump stops back and use the provided Bilstein bump stops or not?

Please advise

yes you are to use the bumpstops that bilstein put on the rear shocks. the fronts have the bumpstops internal to the bilstein struts.

Awesome.

Keep in mind, it will take 2500-3000
Miles to break it in.

Also, you will need a 4 wheel alignment done on it after. I did mine after 3000 miles so the the suspension had a chance to drop and settle in.

It changes how the car looks and handles night and day

Thanks. And the springs are linear or progressive? Where'd you buy the B12 kit?

I want to say they are progressive, but I am not 100% sure on that.

I bought them from FCP Euro. They have me a life time warranty on them. They also price matched for me. I Think I paid like $825.00. By the time I bought the surrounding hardware, I was probably at about $1,000.00

Can you make a full list of the "surrounding hardware" ? I am considering, as at this point my car handle like a NBA basketball in the hands of Magic, but I have a hard time coming with a full list of parts needed for a refresh, and "nice to do as well while in there but not needed".

This would be a nice starting point. I used this kit as a reference.

Interesting

Interested in going B12 as well, were you on sport or standard suspension before? What's the drop?

I was on standard suspension before.

Drop is 1.2" in the front and 1.0" in the rear, if your coming from a non-sport suspension.

Once the car settles, you will have the same ride height as a BMW 335is with m-sport suspension, but your suspension will be better than the m-sport suspension.

This info is just what I am looking for, thank you.
Getting info from sales persons that is real has proven impossible.
I would like to put the B12 Pro kit on my 335is but can't afford to lower the car much more without risking scraping the front valance because streets suck
Would you be willing to give the measurement from the bottom of your rim lip to the fender @ the bottom of the fender lip?
Are you running 18" wheels?
Thanks for your time,
Jeff

I am running 17's.

The IS has an m-sport set up. The b12 lowering kit, is more like an m3 set up.

I don't think you will see hardly any drop from the OEM springs to the Eibach lowering springs. They are a better springs than the m-sport springs on the car, in my opinion.

I assume your are running standard 235/18/40 up front and 255/18/35 in the rear.

I would buy the b12 kit and install it. If the tires rub, which I doubt they will, change out the Eibach springs to the OEM m-sports. Then sell the Eibach springs on the forum or eBay.

If you had 19" rims and were running a different set up as far as tires are concerned, I think you may have a concern.

Remember to get all the surrounding hardware.

The drop from msport to the Eibach springs is minimal. I've got the B12 Kit on my car with 245/40/18 square and there's no rubbing. The rears are 18x8 with an offset of 25, the fronts and offset of 28. Hope that helps.
