Edinnit Have you had a look at the little audio place on the way into Peterborough [just over the hump back bridge after the new estate]? He has a nice e92 M3 and I might resort to booking mine in there for some work.

3- Having Gladen speakers and subs are enough for a normal person. You only go for sub in the boot if you are heavy bass headed.
4- Gladen extreme (new kit) has technical difference compared to last kit. They are 3 ohms when I read last time which means they will produce more sound at a given Watt output. And if that is version two, I believe they are better. I have fitted that into a car and yes they were loud, slightly more crisper than version 1.
2 - I was under the impression (wrongly) that they were MBD which is why I went (eventually) for a boot sub. TBH they do put out a lot (enough) and if carefully set up can go low....
... 3 - you're right Sam. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and TBH for the money I spent on a 10W3V3 and XD600 and the time I invested in making the corner loaded built in sub enclosure, looking back I really didn't need to.

Still, I do like a little bit of bass

edinnit, yes my gongs are louder, front PDC will be because front speakers are amped. Backs, not a problem, normal level as they are not amped. It's bearable though and you get used to it.

Voice commands and navigation, first time after installing everything I nearly shat myself, so did the people the other side of town who also heard it !! lol!!

Just turn the voice nav off and follow the screen.

I am sure that I have E90 rear shelf speakers if somebody want a pair but will have to check.
Let me know if you have them and ill take em

have you got the tweeters too?

and If im putting 3 ways in the front and rears with tweeters in the back what amp would I need? an 8 channel?

So far I think im going with:

Gladen Extreme 3 way tweeters/subs/mids
Audison Bit one
rears mids with tweeters
12w7 with JL 1000/1 in boot

Just need to find amp for front and rear speakers!

Are you planning to run active front or going to use crossovers?

Also, can you confirm if you have E90?

Ahh fair does. Ill soon find out. I know you cant turn the gongs down, but when the nav is talking, cant you turn the volume down, and it sets a seperate volume for the nav...?

If you head into Peterborough through from Normans Cross/ Hampton you come through that stupid traffic calming amongst those new houses. They are on the left just after that hump back bridge.

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.55...-0.2495769,17z

Thats where it is 30 meters north of the railway line.

The minimum volume for nav and voice command is still feckin loud !! You can turn off voice guidance on nav and just follow the screen on the menu bar on the left hand side of the nav screen.

This Gladen kit looks like a great package! Un-fortunately I never knew all this once I was buying parts for my audio set-up and I end up with JL Cleansweep, Focal 100krs mids and buying SWS-8's for subs. Got decent amps thou, not sure of the model yet.

My question is - how ill rear PDC work without rear deck speakers connected? What will beep?
Also, where do people usually install their amps?

Actually no, bluetooth handsfree is unaffected.

To summarise for clarity (and only off the top of my head, I may have missed some) :

Louder
gong for low fuel
gong for door open or ignition on and door open
gong for no seatbelt
gong for low temperature
traffic announcements
front PDC
sat nav
voice commands

Not effected
rear PDC
bluetooth handsfree phone

Is it all worth it - in my opinion yes as the only things in the list above that really effect me are the traffic announcements as they cut in from time to time on the way to and from work. All the rest happen rarely for me or I don't use them, a compromise I'm happy with.

The up side is I have a significantly better sounding sound system that looks OEM, was easy to fit and was great value for money.

I did the same, the mosconi amp fits under the toolkit, rear nearside cubby.

I stuck my JL amp under the rear lift up luggage deck in my boot.

Thanks HH

The only few that would affect me are Fuel low and Low temperature. as I rarely use the nav, especially with voice commands.

It shits me up enough as it is when it gongs for low temperature though LOL

Still 100% worth doing by the sounds of it.
Wonder if you can code the audio warnings off, and leave the dash symbols on...

Done it ages ago.
If you search blondfellas sound installation, you will find that we coded his car to get these bongs to come from speedometer rather coming from the speakers.

Also, your bongs should not be loud if car is coded to h-fi and gains are set properly.

I think I need a trip to see you then as I'm sure there are a few tweaks that you could make to my car to make it better

particularly coding to hifi and a sound system health check / fine tune

Hi guys,
my audio seems to really suck. Can I find out what I have installed from the VIN?

I go on real OEM but I'm not sure if this is just listing all audio options? I have been on other VIN decoding sites that don't make it clear what I have? Will I need to find the Amp in the car?

Thanks
