335is rotor difference?

I a e92 335is and I'm in need of new rotors. I did a quick search to try and see if the rotors on the "is" models were the same as the 335i before ordering.

Looking to purchase a decent set of slotted and/or drilled rotors with pads. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Same exact rotor as the regular 335i. Can't help with the rotor selection though. I went with the F30 M Performance brake upgrade.

Do the is models have the aluminum hat? I can't remember if that was just for the Z4. But the rotors are all interchangeable between the 335i and is (and Z4is).

No aluminum hat for the IS. Standard 335i rotors are stock. I did have the Z435is rotors on mine prior to the F30 BBK and they do have the aluminum hat and are a direct replacement.

ECS shows the aluminum hat rotors from the Z4is as a different part number / upgrade to the 335is (stock 34116855000):

Front Brake Rotors - Pair (348x30)
Featuring a two piece design and an aluminum hat
From the Z4 35is, these rotors are an upgrade for 335 & xDrive35i models, offering a rust-free aluminum hat and weight savings of 2lbs each!
Brand: Genuine BMW - Corporate Logo ES#: 2526447 Mfg#: 34116782593KT

ECS need to fix their website as savings of 2lbs each is incorrect. Less than 2lbs for both combined.

Mine will be available for sale shortly at a substantial savings if interested. Less than 10k miles on them.

Yeah, I have a set. I weighed them and it was more like 0.7 lbs lighter each rotor.

Haha, that's what I did too. I wish I saw that post before I bought them. I was a bit disappointed.

Look into the Zimmerman sport rotors. They are cheapest at pelican.

Funny; I have same rotors and I would have guessed 1lb or so. Lack of rust on hub is awesome, but there are other ways to do the same. Real weight savings came from changing wheel and tire to Apex/PSS.. I noticed quicker steering immediately.
