basically that night the car was solid, but the convertor was too loose for the new setup, wether it's a difference in the shimming of the pump in the new gearbox or the new power is just too much and the convertor can't lock and continues to flare.

basically the runs were clean and good, but RPM wouldn't climb, the engine was trying to get the power down but the convertor wasn't letting it happen, so it basically felt like it was doing the run with the parachute out lol.

so got it back together today with the convertor tightened up and drove it to the bank, feels much nicer and has no issue powering through gears. dyno pulls were clean but maxing the inertia of my old dd 450s so power wouldn't show past 650hp, but even if it's only making 650 that's enough, looking at the graph I'd say it's probably 750 at the tires, (which on a usa dyno would be nearly 1k!)

I can't make it out to sat night test and tune sadly, but this coming wednesday I'll head out and see if it can lay down a pass.
Sounds good. I have BQ tuning doing the fine tuning on my tune so if that is complete and the weather is ok, I will take mine out as well.

Hey Duck, it will be good to see you get your machine going again with a stronger motor so that Qld can get the World Record back off Vic. I see jack has done a 10.066s @ 136.98 mph run. It is good to see Australia has the fastest 2 BMW 335i's in the World.

So, pulled my engine out and pulled it down.

missfire was caused by cracked rocker cover leaking oil into spark plug tubes of 5 and 6.

comp test showed 4 and 5 down on comp a little.

pulled it down, engine looks perfect, bearings look new, thing looks like it's done 5000km, 2 cracked ring landings on those cylinders. basically just too much pressure on the rings. but honestly i haven't seen an engine with this life look this nice inside. bearings look amazing. very impressed.

forged engine should be in relatively soon, just being held up by work haha.

Sick! Thanks for the update mate. Hopefully back together soon. Ive been asking the yanks why they cant get within nearly 0.7 secs of the record. All i got was excuses about how using a glide is cheating. Kids. What do you do?
