sometimes the actual lot where they park is across a street or a block away or something like that. In that case, they may need to go over 2000 rpm to drive your car safely.

4500 like shiv said? probably unnecessary.

And perhaps we might be getting the xi, but I seriously doubt it. LSD would be nice

Is there any reported fixes with those with some boost oscillation? I love v3 except I'm having some partial throttle oscillation.

One (or maybe 2) of the guys that were testing it had oscillation issues before, and they said this fixed it.

I personally only had slight oscillation before new firmware/maps were adapted. With v4, it took NO adaption: I went from v3 to v4 and it was perfectly smooth and strong from the very first pull. It took absolutely zero adaption time

With v4, any type of boost or throttle oscillation is eliminated. With v3 (as well as wit other tunes, piggy and reflashes alike, oscillation is caused by the factory ECU close loop targeting boost based upon a signal that changes when the throttle opens and closes. Double feedback.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I understand it, there won't be any more map "stages" - the tune will adapt to run the best for what the potential of the engine is - i.e., if you have catless DPs, aside from still running the O2 sim, the tune will be able to accomidate for higher exahust flow, thus make more power (instead of having to change to a "stage 2" map).

Thoughts? Shiv?

Nick
Who said anything about there not being stages? Ok.. time to go to sleep

To echo jpsimon's comment on the "too much responsiveness", as a beta tester for the v4 on AT, can agree with it.

The car lunges a lot harder in the various partial throttle conditions. You have to recalibrate your pedal work to make yourself drive more smoothly. Essentially, its like driving a much higher horsepower NA car.

Why not just have this as a user setting we can change. Have a 5 presets setting.

Can you clarify? Have you ever had a Sprint Booster in your car? I had it and then sold it because it was too edgy for my typical city driving. Is this what you are feeling? Like the accelerator pedal been pre-loaded and the angle adjusted to quicken any inputs? I would rather it be natural feeling as it is now, but the car bee much more smooth and eager to just take off when you want to without the elastic artificial electronic throttle effect.

In the latest update it has been smoothed out quite a bit. It's not an elastic artificial feeling, it's just due to the extremely fast boost response.

The early v4 beta releases were more a feasibility study as to whether we could achieve immediate AND stable boost response. It was very basic with respects to throttle-boost mapping. The code was only 25% done and not entirely suitable for 6ATs because of too much partial throttle boost (no 3d boost target mapping). This has been addressed, in steps, over the past several days. Along with the gradual enabling of user adjustables and other convenience features.

The Sprintbooter, btw, just amplified the throttle input signal to get the actual throttle to open quicker. It wasn't a boost control enhancement in any way.
