Going to be replacing my e92 water pump and thermostat in a few days. I bought the replacement kit from ECS tuning (h2o pump, thermostat, alum bolts, and coolant)

Any feedback/tips/advice?

Will I be able to do it using ramps and jack stands? It keeps "overheating" but coolant temp stays the same (give or take 10 degrees, running at 230-250). This should fix that right?

wait man.
are you getting codes or not?
when you start your car, is the Fan running on HIGH Speed?

if so, then yeah do it.
else find out what the problem is first.

also get on Ramps.
then using dolly jack at engine mid point, raise it even higher.
then place Jack stands on the front sides at the highest possible position.

I placed a 6 inch block on my dolly jack to raise it higher.

I only have an autozone one, so I'm not getting any codes. a week prior, the heat/ac wouldn't work at all, then started working again. when it starts to "overheat" the heat will start to turn cold, then goes yellow and the fan kicks on high, then red and limp. a minute or 2 go by, and the "overheating" is gone. and will go back to normal for a little then happen again. sometimes it wont even happen when I'm driving around town for a while. its intermittent, but more often than not. I'm not driving it anymore to prevent further damage

You need to get a BMW scan tool so you can a) properly diagnoise the car, and b) to clear fault codes. The scan tool you have is an OBDII code reader, which only reads OBDII codes and not manufacturer codes. You'll need to clear any of the WP fail codes, before replacing to pump so there are no old codes stored in the ECU in case a mechanic scans the car in the future and tells you you need a new WP. It will then confuse you, because you already replaced the pump.

Hey Bash, where are the mid points for the dolly jack? (front and rear) I've been looking for those last night, but cannot tell for sure. Just want to be 100% before I do any damage. Thanks

The Rear is the under the Diff, so you lift the Diff itself...directly under it.

also my 2 cents for the front.
since I only have a dolly jack and there is no way it will get under it as the car is too low.
i just lift the left front high enough for the dolly to get under it and then pump up with the dolly directly up.
option 2: get your car up on Ramps and then use dolly to raise it further.
but if you use a dolly, have Jack stands on both left and right front for safety.
harbor freight jack stands are good enough.

if you want even higher, then get some blocks of 2x4 wood between jack and car.
I used 3 2x4 blocks, and a METAL Plate on top of the wood to raise it like 20 inches of the ground......then secured it with Jack stands.
