Anyone shed some light? Arm 5 in fmic
Hey guys so I am having a problem getting the hoses flush with the intercooler. I have it all bolted up and everything looks well besides the hoses ring flush, I do have them mostly all the way in but I for some reason can't line up that little "lump" in the hoses that connect to the intercooler. You have line them up perfect and I can't budge this hose anymore.
Any advice? Other than drink more milk and eat more wheaties? Thanks

Have you tried hooking them up on opposite sides? Like the drivers first and then the passengers and vice versa? Also...when I did mine I had to hook up the hoses first and then install the mounting screws...

Yes I've played around with both sides. I've got them almost in just not all the way flush for the life of me.
Interesting meaning you installed it before you even set it on the mounting hqrdway? |

I supported the IC on a floor jack and hooked up the hoses and clipped on the c clips first then I jacked it into place and installed the screws. There wasn’t enough play for me to get the hoses seated all the way when the mounting hardware was tight...

Ok I've tried, tried and tried. I don't know what else to do. Starting to think it's not machined right? I have tugged and fought this try after try it won't sit flush.
All the videos and guides seem like they badly tug and it goes in. What am I doing wrong? |

Quick question. Just do I understand you right u connected hoses before putting ANY hardware into the plastic mounting bracket? Or u did install the mounting bolt onto plastic bracket but didn't fully sit it inside the screw before connecting the hoses

Quick update.
Had a friend come by and we were finally able to get them flush after a ton of force and fighting this sob. Buddy had use chain vice grips along with a crow bar for leverage to get the sucker flush on driver side. Not sure why it was so difficult and other diy guides videos don’t say much about hassling with hoses. Few of you have said to have the same problem. Hmm, glad it is on now going to hope for no leaks!

had this issue with oem intercooler once, the O-ring was in the wrong spot and was getting jammed up, are you sure the o ring was seated correctly?

I just bought their 7inch intercooler and had the exact same issue. I eventually just gave up and took it to the shop. They had the same issue as me, we ended up having to grind out the inside of the intercooler connections to allow the factory couplers to fit. My advice to anyone that’s buys their intercooler is to buy the hose upgrade kit

You know bro I honestly can't remember. I was SO stressed out trying to get the connections flush. I'm sure it was fine though, slipped off oem and went right to install the 5 in stepped.

Seems I am not the only person having this problem and it looks like there are several of you. I was going to buy the hose upgrade arm now offers with there intercoolers. Lol maybe the bad fit or whatever made them do that. Also was going to go with there charge pipe too and maybe down pipes but I'll defintely get down pipes somewhere else when I'm ready for them. |
