I'm a sealant type of person, since they last 3-6 months, rather than a wax that only lasts 3-6 weeks. I use Blackfire Wet Diamond on both of my cars.

Collinite 845, lasts a long time (4 to 6 months) looks good and easy to use. But it's a hybrid product more of sealant than a wax but is a combo. Oh the best part it's $15.

Love it as well.
Personally, I coin-flip on whether I use 845 or 476.

Definitely throw some sealant on there a good day or two before you wax. I used meguires ultimate wax (sealant) then waxed it with Dodo Supernatural wax. I have an old thread here titled TiAg Supernatural for some pics

I would also recommend a sealant because of the extended protection you get. The Blackfire Wet Diamond with Polycharger is my personal favorite as it has a remarkable shine and gloss along with strong protection. As always we have 10% off for forum members with the code e90post as well.

I'm a big fan of Menzerna Power Lock Sealant, easy on and off, tight water beading and glossy reflection. Great on my wheels too.

On light colored colors or metallics I suggest using a sealnt to make the color pop. Darker or warm color color I suggest using a wax to give it a warm, wet deep gloss.

For silver use a sealant like the ones listed above but your "PREP" is the key.

Proper polishing will allow any wax or sealant to bond properly. If you dont polish, you are wasting your time with a sealant.

I have the same color car, I have many more expensive products but find the inexpensive collinite insulator 845 gets silver to look it's best.

i would saysealant only and i would use blackfire. no need for a wax on silver, but if you must, pb natty blue is great for the price or dodo juice. remember to use the sealant first then to apply wax on top of it.

Blackfire Wet Diamond is a great sealer wax that will last 3-6 months depending on your environmental conditions.

I also like the new DoDo Juice Supernatural Hybrid which is a mix of carnuba and synthetics. They claim it will last 6 months. I put a coat on in the fall and we will see how long it last through the winter.

and lastly I've used DoDo Juice Purple Haze Pro, strictly a carnuba and works great on my black metallic sapphire paint.

Another vote for the Collinite 845. I'll try the blackfire once I am out of the Collinite but it sure lasts a long time.

I've just purchased these products for my car. Can you explain where the glaze comes in?? I believe I understand all of the other processes, but I am having trouble understanding what the glaze does.

Also - what is the difference between paint correction, and regular polish (see recent Bentley thread) where he does a "complete detail" with polish. - Not intending to threadjack.

When I use to detail more frequently, I used Zaino and like the results.
