This looks amazing, love what you've done.

I've done something a little similar on the power side, hybrids, dpf delete intercooler. Where in the UK are you based?

Cheers dude, I am based in gloucester so not a million miles away from you. It was actually your build thread that convinced me to do it in all honesty! lol

So this weekend I will be prepping the car for my trip to the nurburgring which is less than two weeks away now. I am having some Naca ducts installed into the bonnet to allow the hot air out, which will also look pretty sick (hopefully).

Planned installs and service work to do this Saturday are:
Big radiator
oil and filter change
brake fluid change
new track compound rear pads
Beefy Meth tank install

So decided to take the plunge and get some nada ducts welded into the original bonnet to aid cooling.

I won't be working on the car this weekend as my radiator has not arrived, so it looks like I will be leaving it until 4 days before I go away to get the car ready which isn't ideal!

The car has been on a couple of different dyne's. MSL perfromance in Birmingham and Narco Tuning in coventry. It will be going on another one next week before I go away too. It has made the same numbers on all the dyno's which is nice, as some tuners inflate their readings when they have carried out the work.

So you'd recommend narco tuning in Coventry? Dont suppose they had any problems dynoing your 335d? Its just that the last time i went to a dyno place they couldn't do it properly!

No issues whatsoever, what problems have you had? Be prepared for lower figures on their dyno, as it does read lower than most. I always use them for mapping or trouble shooting any issues I have had in the past.

Just a Quick question, have you had any issues with you gearbox after the tune?
And have you done any upgrades on it?

looks good , iv had mine on track , with the water meth on , temps last a lot longer before i get a temp warning light for the engine. cooling is a massive issue on these cars , but open the bonnet and you see why... 3.0l derv block and 2 glowing turbos on the side all in a very tight bay isnt going to stay cool for long

im not sure your naca ducts will work , they are normal used for sucking air in , with minimal drag effects , using low pressure zones , although they should let air out , i dont think they will have a big effect as you could get.

My WRC bonnet , has vents in it that have a ramp and then a sharp drop off , this is to create a pressure diffrence and help drag air out of the engine bay

really cool to see you do it with a e91! , im not sure if its an option for you but removing weight would be a massive help!

I also took the plunge and ordered a 6 pot BBK with track biased pads.

This set up works well both on the street, and the track. As always though because the car could now use all the power effectively, I started getting issues with coolant and oil temps. This was only ever when on a track day and I wouldn't have noticed if I were just streeting it. As a lot of you will know, there are not many options for a bigger coolant radiator so I 'thought' I may be able to get an uprated 320d item to work.
Grazy_87, could you please expand on your suspension upgrade? Which brand and model coilovers did you choose?
I just went to a track with the Koni FSDs and decided they need to go. But I did enjoy the soft ride for the daily driver. I take it the 3 way adjustable do both?

No upgrades to the gearbox, just an atf change at 50k miles and will do one at 90-100k miles as well.

Still shifts silky smooth. It didnt prior to 50k miles (car was stock then) and since atf change its been good. I did the stage 3 at 62k and now at 75k been good so far and touchwood it will stay ok!

I am thinking about some hardware upgrades for the gearbox but i don't know where to start

Ok.
I also get the atf and filter changed every 80-100.000km.
I have seen an Australian company doing upgrades for the gearbox. But I never succeeded in getting any information from them.
I've also investigated what can be done to the gearbox locally and here in Denmark and a local company here can provide a stronger converter. That's a start....

Unfortunately, I have to agree with Jack...those aren't NACA ducts. I think they'll just wind up being sexy dimples.

Same, i emailed that Australian company this week but with no response. Would be nice to upgrade some of the gearbox hardware as preventative maintenance.

Do you have a diff lockdown kit?

It fixes the position of our diff so it can't move, so it prevents wheel hop and hopefully stops the rear feel like its moving to the left. Have a read here http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28937 check out last few pages.

I actually received mine today, but went for the diff plate instead of the diff kit. He has another thread on there for the plate, which is better for high torque models.

I am planning to solid mount my rear subframe and use the black series bush for the rear diff once I have converted it to manual. Does look good though.

Love the pics.

Apparantly theres still movement of the diff even if you go for solid bushes, as there are only 3 bushes. The lockdown plate ensures zero movement
