Since they have everything on the computer, they don't use those stickers anymore. At least that's what they told me.

Basic rule of thumb during my discussions with the dealers. If their computer doesn't show an open campaign, they won't do it unless you successfully twist their arm a lot. If the work on your car is not in their computer, it was not done unless you can show it on a piece of paper from them.

I believe it is a commonly accepted fallacy in this computer age we now live in: If it's not in the computer, it doesn't exist.

There can be any number of reasons the computer has incorrect or incomplete information. Bugs the livin' crap out of me sometimes.

Having been in IT off-and-on since 1969 (YUP), I couldn't agree more.

I mentioned that here because of the headaches this particular issue caused me when we were looking at buying the 335D. I saw almost every possible combination of stickers or not you could think of. All but 1 was reflected accurately in the dealer VIN report. Only one had all the stickers and reflected correctly in the dealer data. It's kind of awkward standing there talking with a salesman or owner telling them the car is not right because the recall work did not appear to have been done. In 4 out of 5 cases I can attest to it was, but one was not. How is a buyer supposed to make an informed decision? The one we ended up buying (but almost didn't!) had no stickers. Go figure.

If the SCR catalyst itself is bad (doesn't seem so from the codes) it would be covered by the Federal 8/80.

Goodwill by the (dealer?) shop that did the repair last year; parts are only covered for 90 days, but you can give it a try.

Dealer just told me the parts are covered for two years but like you said that might not be the problem.

And it seems those codes have to do with the following:

DPF
DDE (ecu)
NOx
EGR
SCR

It seems the most common cause with those codes are build up in scr and it needs cleaned. I'm hoping that is it......

There has been so much written about carbon build up not being covered under CPO warranty and it being a "maintenance" issue. But some have had luck getting the dealer/BMWNA to pay for it. Is SI B11 04 12 (EGR Valve) a separate issue from carbon buildup?

I just came across a thread at BMWCCA referencing the new SI B11 03 14 (walnut shell blasting). Can anyone here confirm it? Is there a PDF floating around? Should we add it to the sticky? See below for source.

[EDIT] Found something here on e90post (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=983574).

Great thread! I'm a new member and just picked up a 2011 335d in Florida two weeks ago.

I see no stickers under my hood or on my driver's b-pillar jam to show evidence of any of the recalls being completed.

Do you think I'd have success getting any of this work done taking it to my local dealer (in Delaware) several years now after many of these recalls were issued?

A recall doesn't expire. Call the dealer and ask if the recall was done for your car. If it wasn't, ask (insist) that they do it.
