CIC to CCC conversion Melb
Hi, is anyone here able to assist with fitting and programming a CIC module into an 07 335i E93 CCC? I have the head unit , screen and I-Drive controller + trim from a donor 2019 CIC E92.

There's heaps of CIC retrofit threads. What part are you struggling with ? Physical fit? Wiring ? Coding ? Or just daunted and struggling to get started ?

Just daunted and a bit paranoid of shorting something as it involves requiring the screen plug. Also not not sure on the computer doing side of it

Check out this thread to try help you with some of it.
https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1610327 How much did you grab your current gear worth from the donor car if you dont mind me asking. Also, I believe https://cicretrofit.com/ does the whole kit for about $750 USD. But I would start to look at that to see what you are missing to start your retrofit. |

Fitting everything is fairly straightforward if you've worked on cars before. Coding is 8/10 difficulty, but there are many guys who can help you out for free or for a small fee (including CIC Retrofit aka NickCo43). Hope this helps!

Also, if you're interested in an OEM install for a reverse camera on E9X, check out this link.

These are available from various OS suppliers the latest (Android 9) 4gig Ram 64 gig storage are the best buy, they have had a lot of improvements. There are a few tricks in installing especially in getting access to routing all the interface cables. You get nill or minimal discriription and absolutly NO HELP from suppliers. Now that i've done it a few times its a lot clearer. There is a limit to how the Idrive reacts in the Android UI. I notice that in the US several owners have got together to help each other sort them out.(something we should consider) they come with a variety of apps (Obviously only free ones) and they all seem to be using the same UI. I have found that the touch screen is a lot brighter and have now worked out that adding better apps helped. I have been able to add USB input, a stand alone DVD player, reverse camera, Forward recording camera, extra Aux inputs in ashtrays and glove box(i have no idea why) I also added digital radio. I realise that I had became quite obsessed with this and spent many hours sorting it all out. i trust this all makes sense

Frankly i would still do it again. It would be better if I was more familiar with Android.I have the benifit of using original CCC interface whilst trying to work through the android limitations.
if you do get one read the specs Very Very carefully If you get stuck you can always contact me Gerry |

I got the android 10. with 4G octacore with 4gig ram.
ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUES AT ALL. I LOVE IT. QUICK START UP. FULL INTERGRATION WITH IDRIVE CONTROLLER AND STEEERING WHEEL CONTROL. SEAMLESSLY SWITCH BACK AND FORTH WITH IDRIVE AND ANDROID SYSTEM. BUY THE ONE THAT I LINKED. I HAD TO CUT A BIT OF THE IDRIVE CAGE TO ALLOW EASY CABLING. OTHERWISE INSTALL PRETTY STRAIGHT FORWARD. |

+1 for the Android head unit.. I installed a new 4/64GB 8-core unit after having an earlier 4-core ones for a few years. The new 8-core one is really good, the old one was had a few issues.
FYI: If you remove the lower DIN cage and run the loom behind there's no need to cut it. |
