F30 loan car
My car has gone in for a service today and I have been given my mates F30 320d Luxury, I wasn't to sure about these first time I saw them but I am very impressed now.
The car is very nice to drive (however I am used to a E92 335D with rubber bands for tyres ) inside it feels alot more modern, the cabin definately feels more spacious and I really like the LCD instruments, these give you lots of useful information and are intergrated to your media options as they should be on all modern cars. It has the 8 speed auto box and this coupled with the 20D really shocked me how fast it gets going, it pulls in every gear very well. I can't wait for them to release the 35D version now as I have an itch!! |

The debate is on as to whether they will release a 35d, with the performance of the 30d being 0-60 in 5.6secs a 35d would need to be faster and then you start to tramp on the heels of the 335i and M3 albeit with a lot more economy. Also the 30d is reported to feel every bit as fast as the E9x 35d so should be worth a test drive.

We don't get the 550d model here in UK so can't see them bringing a 3 with that engine here. Not sure why they don't bring them to UK when diesel car sales are so high.

340bhp with Xdrive ......... that sounds a lot of fun but also a big old price tag I'm sure. Whether its worth the extra over the already well powered 330d remains to be seen.

I think it would be very hot on the heels of the current E9X M3 and they'd have to make a pretty special F30 M3 to be a lot quicker....... But as said, there is a lot of doubt if a new 335d will happen. There is a lot of speculation from old internet articles but I'm sure someone was saying recently there no plans for BMW to release a new 335d. Technically, no doubt they can do it - but marketing-wise, thats another thing and maybe for the above mentioned reasons they wont release it. |

You can get an X5/X6 with the engine as there is more space under the bonnet.
