Actually it is MK60_87.C03, A_E65.IPO, DSC_87.PRG for the 335d.
Mine is set to wert_02 originally. I have never tried 01 but my guess is that it is a setting on how agressive it is to apply brake pressure. There are so many interesting things to do - if I only had more time...

There have been concerns voiced about the stability of the car with ediff off.

Two days ago I turned off the ediff and the brake overheating thing via coding...I left everything else as is.. Last night it rained a lot here...so i decided to test things out a bit.

I intentionally broke the wheels loose in the rain. For the most part the car kept going straight....a couple times my back end got a little loose and the car straightened me out immediately.... No problem...felt just like normal

But....if i hold down DTC, I can powerbrake all damn day....... bye bye tires...

Do you think it's possible to code those options to the DTC button? As in when you start the car they're off, but once you press DTC they could activate?

Im not sure why you would want to.... If you dont have a mechanical diff, the ediff should stay on...without it you REALLY would be one legged. If you do have a mechanical diff, its a resounding "turn that thing off for good"



(the other is just a protection nanny that you will likely never feel)

I probably should start a new thread for this, but most of the time I get asked about it, its in relation to turning off the ediff.... so Ill start here.

This is a video I made with one of the go to coders in the country. In the comments, I talk about how you can get ahold of him for remote coding (NOT tuning) if you dont have the time/energy etc.

Without further delay.....Coding BMWs for newbs... to add on a little bit....what's in the video is what I know.....I dont even remember where I got my BMW tools or if there were any installation issues..... Im sorry Im no help there....If you are having issues with that part, consult the coding forum, Im not going to be able to assist...Id have to relearn just like you.

so to confirm... coding out ediff codes it out in all traction control settings.

is there a way to code it out only when DTC button is pressed and held?

i would imagine having ediff on in some situations would be preferable...

When you fully code it out it is still full traction control active unless your long press your dtc button.

Thanks for bringing this back to the top as I was meaning to add my experience to this about the brake over heating COF_FLR setting ...

I'm going to bepost what I wrote on another thread last weekend, but it's also fitting here:

Update. Mik325tds was kind enough to help me out with this today (thanks again). Turned out my OEM setting was wert_01 already. Found an old post from Mik325tds and his was also wert_01 (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=508). So, we changed mine to wert_00, and it took that coding value (335dsleeper I'm not sure why yours wouldn't take that value?).

Initial test on wet roads tonight shows this did the trick. I was able to brake stand hard enough to keep the car in place (had to press harder than I expected as the car creeped forward a bit before I pressed harder and stopped the forward progress, at which point the rear wheels started spinning) and I was able to modulate the fuel pedal and control wheel spin up and down without the DDE pulling fuel and bogging down. My quick test had several seconds of controlled spinning, and before I couldn't spin with the brakes applied for more than a fraction of a second.
