+1 on that. And the dealer will find every little stuff and use scare tatics to get to you. I know the economy's bad but they don't need to do that.

i replaced my front control arms with the m3 kit it took me an hour by myself. One thing to keep in mind though. if you go the m3 route you have to grind the end with the bushings down a little to fit to the subframe, also it was easier to remove the tension struts first and also install them first and you shouldnt have a problem and get an alignment I had to drive 15 miles to get one and turning wasnt to pleasant.

It's for the labor. Parts are around $200.

Was yours a sport originally? Trying to figure out why your clearance was different that you had to grind it down.

any noticeable differences in steering response and overall control with these M3 Control Arms & M3 Tension Struts on a stock sport suspension?

You can feel the increased negative camber. Is that worth the $ ? Up to you. But if you have worn out bushings, dampers, etc. then I think it makes good sense to upgrade to better parts.

Upgrade your stock E90/92/93 BMW 3 Series' suspension with these OEM M3 Suspension components*. M3-like handling at a fraction of the cost! Kit includes: Left and Right M3 Control Arms(311022283577-8), Left and Right M3 Tension Struts w/ Bushings(31102283575-6), and front regulating rod for headlights (37142283867). Does anybody know if this kit will work on my 2011 335xi? I would love to upgrade my suspension parts to M3 if possible.

Meyle has HD bushings and new control arms becoming avail. You may need to hunt them down, but a good upgrade from factory. I tried Bavauto a month ago, and they didn't have stock yet.

You must be confused. You've already got a bunch of Meyle parts in your BMW. Meyle is a German company that makes OEM parts for BMW, Mercedes, etc.

Their "HD" (heavy duty) parts are a clear step above the OEM spec. Their E46 HD front control arms and bushings were a huge improvement over OEM.

Ya I just got quoted $780 from the dealer for a cracked and leaking bushing... Parts are $45 OEM. Actually I inspected myself, only one was leaking, but I suppose replacing both is a good idea. I called another shop and they charge $190 for 1.6 hrs of work. How the hell is BMW charging $700 for labor on a friggin bushing is beyond me.

I'm not sure about replacing the whole thing myself either, don't have the tools, but wish I did. Looks like a pain in the ass to get to the inside strut mount points. Also want to upgrade to M3 this year anyway.

Reviving an old thread, but I went to do an allighnment and the guy told me he couldn't do it cuz my rear control arm bushings were shit. So I told them to replace it and they charged me 480 for parts and labour. Does that sound fair or did I get raped? Thanks
