2009 E92 tweeter trim removal

Anyone know if the driver side tweeter trim can be removed from a 2009 E92 335i without removing the door panel? The BMW TIS instructions for the 2008
say to disengage 2 clips by pulling the trim toward you and then lift up to remove from channel. Has anyone ever removed the trim using this technique.

Thanks

You need to remove the door panel. No way around it without damaging something.

2009 E92 tweeter trim removal

Finally got around to looking up the removal procedure for the door mounted tweeter cover in the BMW TIS documentation. Someone at the body shop dented my driver side cover with a finger. The tweeter cover can be easily removed without removing the door panel and without causing damage to the cover. It is held on with a single clip and a slotted alignment bracket. Simply pull the top of the cover forward and lift up. Goes back on just as easily. On and off combined is a few minute job.

can you explain this better? I was yanking the thing forward (toward the end of the door from the top and it seems to move a bit, but am worried cause I couldn't get it.

What is "forward" and how do I lift "up"?

Hi - Threadbump

Does anyone have a copy of the TIS pdf for coupe tweater/cover removal and refit? BMW TIS wants $30 for a day's access which is more than the cover

thanks everyone

It's actually pretty easy to remove the panel on these.

Thanks both. I've looked and there's lots mentioned in words and about half dozen threads mentioned the TIS but none included the TIS. The closest was a thread with TIS on the whole audio system bit that didn't cover tweeter covers. Another had the instructions but for the e90 which is entirely different to the e92 I wanted the TIS that explicitly and unambiguously says up and then out, not straight out.

Never mind.

Background is shop broke a clip on the tweeter cover. Contested as they think it was already broken. I don't think so personally as tweeter had been secure for over 7 years that car in my possession and panel has never been off in that time. And I doubt it was removed or broken before as car was less than 5k miles when I got it.... but then suddenly loose immediately after and with glue holding it on apparently softened in the sun. Anyhow because cheap part they're going to fix it anyway with no admission which suits me.... They can lookup the TIS assuming they have the access needed.
