Logic 7 restarts songs after car is off?

...any way to turn that off so it picks up where you left off? kind of annoying...

In addition I see almost no literature for the Logic 7 system - is there any out there from BMW? Did I just not get that booklet?

Hmmm it should pick up where it left off... the only issue I'm having is sometimes the next time I get in, it has jumped to a totally different track and I believe that was fixed in a few software releases not too long ago.

Should start exactly where you left off in the middle of the song. Otherwise, that would be REALLY annoying if you were listening to a book on CD and it started at the beginning of the track each time.

Some CD issues were addressed in the latest PROGMAN update v25. You may want to ask your dealer about it.

My CD's start back where they were in the middle of whatever song, but the iPod starts the whole song over which is kind of irritating unless it is a really good song.

Really? My ipod starts where I left off. I haven't played a CD yet to know what happens there.

Yes occassionally mine will start back at track 1 - but most of the time starts over from the begininning of the track it was last on, and it is very annoying - hmmm only had the car 2 weeks and it has always done this - I guess its possible the software could be old....

Hi-
I have the same problem. when i get back in the car and am listening to a cd, it will always start at the beginning of the last track it was playing, regardless of where in the track i was. on my 6fl ipod option, its more sporadic. sometimes it will stay on the current track, sometimes it will start at the beginning of the entire ipod. the time that the car is off or how i turn it off (comfort access) doesn't seem to make a difference. a nuisance more than anything, but i do have it happening.

This (at least with the dealer-install ipod adapter) seems to follow the "remember position" setting for the track in iTunes. By default, this setting is "off" (ie restart from beginning of track) for music and "on" (ie pick up where you left off) for podcasts and audiobooks.

If you rip your own audiobooks then you'll have to set this manually. it's a property of each track like the rest of the metadata.

oops, sorry; my bad... I think you're SOL in that case barring double-secret dealer settings.

I noticed this same problem immediately since most of my cd's are live sets... I resorted to splitting all my mp3s into 4-5 minute pieces... <sigh> it seems so stupid that they would put so much into the car and not pay attention to a little detail like this...

Many many many many thanks for mentioning this tintivilus!!!

You are a life saver!

Resurrecting this thread 13 years! I had this problem in my Pre-LCI E92.

I then went onto Music (formerly known as iTunes), did a cmd+a (select all) for all the tracks in my playlist, then went onto "Get info" then clicked "Options" and ticked "Remember playback position" and it worked!

I got in the car, started it, played a track from that playlist, shut the car, got out the car and locked it, got back in the car, started the car and the song resumed from where it stopped.

The only one thing I will try to confirm this fully solved this issue is tomorrow morning, I will get into the car and fingers crossed it will resume from where I left it. Overnight, the iPod will go to sleep (as it stays on for a minute after the car is turned off) so in the morning, it will wake up again and be tested!

I will report back.

I hope this helps all other people with their iPod track not resuming where stopped.

I believe this similar approach will apply to E9x with USB connected to MP3 players also...

Thanks a million tintivilus!

I'm glad to say that the track resumed from where it stopped when I shut the car yesterday!

So folks, this is potentially the cure for many of E9x owners out there with issues of the track starting from the beginning after turning the car off.

Hope this helps others with this same problem!
