I have Bilstein B8 Sports on the way (to run with BMWPS springs). I chose B8 Sport over HD as the BMWPS springs lower the car by ~25 mm. I think both the B8 Sports and HDs will both be fine with PS springs from a shock travel/bump stop clearance standpoint. I will probably post my thoughts once installed as I haven't seen any posts on this combo.

awesome setup. I have always been a bils fan, and will continue to be. As for people saying why shocks/springs when you can have coil overs??? Coilovers are not an end all. A properly matched quality shock/spring combo will outperform a poorly setup/cheap coilover all day long. And into next week. My suspension, with m3 arms/bushings and f/r sways, is nearing perfection. |

I still like my BMW Perf shocks (they were a steal at like 133 bucks on closeout I think I was one of the first to buy them at that money) after a little more than 50,000 miles they have held up great. I believe they are custom valved bilsteins painted black, so I know they have another 50k in them at least.
Great match with the oem sport springs the car was built with. Daily, track, auto x, jack of all trades. Only reason I would swap them out would be to go to coil overs. I would like to raise the car an inch from where it stands now for the winter. The car is amazing in the snow with blizzaks, only limiting factor is the low nose with the factory sport springs. If the car was 3/4 to 1" higher, it would be even better. That said, never been stuck.... knocks on wood.

It's that beefy piston that strengthens the shock to horizontal movements and the reason Bilstein claims the shock reduces wear on other steering and suspension components. I have no data or proof to that, but I did have them for over 100K miles on one of my cars (Volvo 850T) and they just got better with time!

The design of the Bilstein shocks are such that they work with a wide variety of springs, They use the B8 in the B12 kit for both the Pro and Sportline eibachs. I would be VERY surprised if they didn't work with the BMW PS springs.
